Principal’s Corner

Dear Ketterlinus Parents and Students,

Today is the 13th anniversary of 9/11. Although our stu-

dents did not experience those tragic events first hand,

they took the opportunity to thank our local heroes who

came to visit our school with a “grab and go” breakfast.

Several of the classes made thank you notes and staff

made treats for our St. Augustine Police and Fire depart-

ment and St. Johns County Sheriff and Fire Department.

On the morning news, a special Words of Wisdom was

shared by Kyle Gillespie on 9/11 - a Day to Remember

and Serve by honoring those that serve our country by

giving back to our community. We shared with students

that the flag was at half-staff for those who lost their lives

on 9/11. I’m very proud of our students and staff for tak-

ing the time to honor our local heroes. If you see a he-

ro – whether they wear a uniform or not, take the time to

thank them.

Have a great weekend,

Kathy Tucker

At school and in informal learning environments, our charac-ters help introduce new topics and illustrate complex con-cepts.
