Hello Heritage Club Members:

Springtime weather with its daily ups and downs is upon us. The crops are going in the ground, and boats are returning to the docks. Graduation is on the horizon for the Class of 2017. Many of the communities that we serve are gearing up for RAGBRAI to travel through the

area in July. I have been hearing about the themes they are working on and more importantly, the fact that community members will be needed to handle the large

crowd of bikes passing through. Our locations in Decorah, Waukon, Lansing, and Harpers Ferry will all

who is available during that last full week in July to volunteer and help welcome the bikers to Northeast

Iowa. Many of our bank staff members will be helping to make this a successful event.

I have enjoyed several RAGBRAI trips myself and know that this year they will experience some of the biggest hills, curviest roads, and the most scenic and beautiful area of Iowa. Many of you may be also planning trips

this summer. Don’t forget to notify Kerndt Brothers Bank of your travel plans if you will be going out of state or the country and want to use your debit card. Travel alerts will prevent any problems with your card when

you are traveling.

Best regards,

Bits by Betty…

We were off to Blooming-ton, MN, on our first Herit-age Club trip of 2017. What a show we saw! I won’t go into detail, but those of you who were along will know what I am talking about.

We will be off again in May for the next trip to see how Ole and Lena are doing. If interested, be sure to get signed up. I am sure the next few trips will be filling up quickly.

Before long, we will be cele-brating Memorial Day. To honor our Vets and all those who fight for our country and freedom, we THANK YOU. Be sure to show your support and appreciation by joining in the parades and activities in your hometown.

As you know from the last newsletter, Hawaii won out for a 2018 getaway. If inter-ested, be sure to call our of-fices and get your name on the list. We have quite a list started. By the looks of it, a lot of you are planning on leaving “Ole Man Winter.” Can we entice you with warm sunshine, enchanting islands, and white sandy beaches?

Spring Clean Yourself & Your Health

With spring here and summer on the way, I am passing on a few cleaning tips for your health:

1. Eat healthier.2. Schedule screening and

doctor appts.3. Venture outside to walk or

bike.4. Go wheat-free for a month.

It will help you lose a few ofthose extra pounds.

5. Be sure to replace old work- out shoes. In other wordsput a new bounce in yourstep.

Sometimes even the small things can make a big differ-ence for us.

From Amy in West Union …

Thanks to all who attended the Dessert Spring Social held in West Union on March 22. A group of about 30 club mem-bers indulged in various des-serts, including fabulous cheesecake. It’s nice to treat ourselves once in awhile. Speaking of treats, I just have to say what a delight it is for me to have had the opportunity to travel with the club. Last fall, I was able to go to St. Paul on the Padelford Riverboat and the Old Creamery Theatre in October. I recently went along

to the Day Trippers Theatre in Bloomington, MN. It was quite the production! It made this gal blush but generated lots of laughs. The trips are well orga-nized, and we do our very best to ensure an enjoyable time. If you haven’t traveled with us, please don’t hesitate and cer-tainly if you don’t have a travel partner, don’t let that stop you. The bus is usually buzzing with conversation, and friendships are quickly made. Watch the next newsletter for the date of my annual ice cream social. I hope you can attend and as al-ways, I’ll have my homemade hot fudge!
