I was born in London.

After qualifying as a solicitor in 1998 I have practised in London andmore recently in Kent. I specialise in criminal law work and regularlyrepresent defendants in the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal.

I set up and run one of the largest niche criminal law firms in thecounty. I have responsibility for financial matters in our company.

Gainedtremendous experience in project planning, budgeting, managementand administration in an international and inter-culturalorganisational setting.

Personal talents and strengths in a work environment includeStrategic, Developer, Maximizer, Relator and Learner based on TheGallup Organisation’s online strength finder 1.0 which I took in 2009.

Three key achievements

- April 2010-March 2012: Set up and managed a languagedevelopment project for seven local languages spoken in Uganda.This role involved liaison with a USA based international fundingpartner called The Seed Company (www.theseedcompany.org) anddevelopment partners in Uganda, project proposal development,planning and budgeting, and mobilisation of communities in theareas where we work.

- 2007: Initiated the construction and establishment of a permanentprimary school in Arua District, Uganda to provide access toeducation for over 400 children in Fundo Village(www.fundopps.blogspot.com). The main impacts of this initiativeare increased enrolment of girls in school, community access totraining in food security, access to reproductive health services inthe area and increased awareness of the prevention, treatmentand control of HIV/AIDS.

- 2003: Co-founded Nutricare International Ltd, a non-governmentalorganisation working with vulnerable children and under-privilegedfamilies in Arua District, Uganda. Nutricare International Ltd is nowa consultancy in nutrition and food security and an agriculturalbusiness advisory organisation.

He was mandated to serve as the Portfolio Manager at Gold VentureCapital Ltd, which has Boulders Advisors Ltd as Fund Managers. AtGVCL, he led the team through its teething stages through to date,where investments have been made in five companies in differentsectors of the Ghanaian economy.

His operational and financial management skills and depth ofexperience allows him to define problems and develop sustainablesolutions, which provide comprehensive and effective responses tothe challenges confronting clients. He also assists clients to take fulladvantage of emerging business opportunities to enhance thegrowth and performance of their operations.

- Successfully developing a Bond Document and raising GHS 15million (US$ 9m) Bond Issuance for Multimedia Group Ltd.

- Successfully leading the Gold Venture Capital Team throughinception and personally sourcing and processing the first threeinitial deals which have been fully funded and are thriving in thehotel, digital printing and educational sectors. His last deal was aUS$7 million investment project in Caltech Ventures, a cassavaplantation which processes and produces ethanol, dry ice andcarbon dioxide. Three investors including the promoter, StanbicBank Ghana Ltd, Activity Venture Finance Company and GoldVenture Capital Ltd.

- He also led a team to develop a business model, to obtain licenseas a Trustee firm in Ghana by the National Pension ReformAuthority. Secure Pensions Trust Ltd is currently fully operational.

Entered the international advertising and media agency aftergraduating from university. From WPP Group, IPG to Aegis Group,has worked from a creative assistant to a professional media-planning director.

Over seven years of experience in communications with a mediaagency, and has provided professional marketing communicationstrategy to the marketing personnel from multinational corporationssuch as Nokia, UPS, Microsoft, and INTEL.

Over the past seven years, has enjoyed the professional challengesexperienced.

Three key achievements

- Many of the projects that Jun Shao has lead have been widelypraised and awarded. For instance, “Nike-Ginger campaign” wasawarded the grand prize in the propaganda of customer market;and also the activity she organized was awarded the JintoushangPrize in the Nokia N8 BUS SHOW campaign. Moreover, “Nokia X7Transformers” activity was short listed for outdoors prizes.

- Successfully helped Nokia open more than 180 new rural marketsby using outdoor media in China.

- Independently obtained service contracts from a new client andbuilt a coherent team that was awarded more than 120 millions(RMB) commissions, which was the strongest one among otherteams.

Career aspirations

The media industry is changing fast and most of the employeesenter into it and then give up half-way, although talents are the mainfactor enabling a media agency to survive. I hope I could realise myown value, but also during the next five years to conduct my work toinfluence and lead more employees in a managerial role.
