VOCATIONAL MINUTE
Ken, born and raised on Oahu, graduated from Iolani School. He moved to the Big
Island in 2002 to be closer to his mother and sister. After graduating from the William
S. Richardson School of law, he worked in the Hilo Public Defender’s office before
opening his own law office in 2005. The County Council soon became his biggest
client and later that year he was hired by the Office of the County Clerk. Ken
worked at the Clerk’s Office for five years being the Deputy and then County
Clerk. After the 2010 election, he left the county and worked for Carlsmith Ball LLP in
Hilo. He now has his own office located at 688 Kinoole Street, #108. While he does
other legal work, Ken is focusing on family law which he finds rewarding.
Ken married a Hilo girl, Donna Iaukea and has three step children: Nakia, 20, who
resides in Kona; Cymone, 16, a senior at Hilo High School; and Jontae, 13, a
freshman at Hilo High School. He has two children, twins, Samuel and Victoria who
will be 3 in November. Ken likes hiking, swimming and going out to dinner with his
wife.
Ken enjoys belonging to Rotary as a way to serve and give back to the community
and help people throughout the world. Rotary also is a great way to learn about
what is going on in our town, county and state.
