Kendal Fundraising Group Volunteer Fundraising Group Member About Teenage Cancer Trust: Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for the seven young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day. We want every young person with cancer to have access to our specialist support, no matter where they live. We're dedicated to making it happen, but we need your support to do it. At a glance: We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people to join our volunteer-led Teenage Cancer Trust Fundraising Group based in Kendal . This is a great for someone who is looking to join a committed team of Teenage Cancer Trust supporters with the aim of raising vital funds and awareness of Teenage Cancer Trust in the local community. Time Commitment: One monthly meeting, and a frequent time commitment to ensure the success of the group. We ideally would like a volunteer to commit to volunteering with us for 6 months. Actively participating in monthly meetings in a venue agreed by the group Being an active member the group: developing ideas for events, creating solutions to problems, thinking of new fundraising ideas and working as a team Being a spokesperson for Teenage Cancer Trust at selected events and attending selected cheque presentations Jointly aiming to reach fundraising targets that the volunteer group sets, keeping other members informed of actions and progress Designing and putting together some promotional material and press releases Being an active member of the group and encouraging others to volunteer as well! What will I gain? You will have fun, stimulating meetings that are very social and always involve tea and cake! You will gain confidence in networking and speaking to corporate and individual donors You will add to your CV and enhance your career opportunities You will raise vital funds and awareness for this amazing charity What skills do I need? Enthusiastic, positive, responsible and driven person who is able to work individually and within a team Confidence in communicating with people over the phone and in person You must be very organised, able to prioritise, and work independently to deadlines
