Kencot Says Bon Voyage to Sister Zara Ranglin Zara leaves Jamaica tomorrow to further her studies at Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut. Her area of specialization is Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. She wants to engage in research of infectious diseases, in particular HIV AIDS. She became interested in this field when she was in the Friends Class at the Vanguard Pathfinder Club. Zara had to complete research on HIV AIDS curriculum. As she did her research she became

fascinated by the way the HIV AIDS virus could hide itself in the body and replicate itself in order to destroy the human body. There began her journey to pursuing research in her chosen field of study.

Zara got accepted for studies at the following universities: MIT, Johns Hopkins, Princeton, Columbia and UWI, Mona. Zara has served the Church in several departments. She was also youth first elder and youth elder. She currently serves as Pathfinder Junior Officer, GEMS president, Sabbath School Secretary and Musician. Zara never turns down a request to serve. Whatever she does she does it well.

Zara credits her success to this point in her life to being a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, in particular, being a member of the Kencot Church family. “This is not goodbye. Just until we meet again. I am going to face a new set of challenges. I will need your prayers. I will greatly miss my friends and Church Family here at Kencot. I have however, purposed in my heart to always choose God first above everything else. Let us all continue along this journey until Jesus comes again.”
