Hello Everyone!
The first time l ever saw Pat Parelli teach horsemanship was back in 1990.
Learning to prepare a horse, so the horse could understand the process, by
building a solid foundation for the
fundamentals of performance, was nothing
short of a spectacular expression of expertise.
It wasn’t only about the results, it wasn’t only
about having good timing, it wasn’t only about
having the skills and being confident with his
knowledge, but it was also about ...... first and
foremost ...... the relationship between the
human and the horse! Pat was building a
trusting and more cooperative connection, so
each session that bond became stronger and
stronger.
For the first time in my life l got to see real horsemanship.
I got to understand how to offer information to a horse without it being too
intense or direct. l saw how to isolate & separate tasks for the horse to learn
and then develop the same language that horses use on the ground and in
the saddle, and understood as horses licked and chewed, relaxed and
bonded more deeply with the human...... without the normal high levels of
stress or mechanical micro-managing placed on them. The tools he used
were simple. Mostly a soft halter, yachting braid rope and a rope
hackamore when riding, or a snaffle, and yet the application & results were
very, very effective.
Right from that initial exposure back in 1990, l just knew I wanted to be
good enough to improve horse’s abilities in a natural way...... but l had to
improve my skills first and that was where we started.

Main Courses for 2013 /2014
Coming up to my 18th year of working as a Licensed Parelli Instructor and
a Horse Development Specialist, it’s becoming more important to me to
spend as much time as l can working from home, or in my local area,
developing students that are dedicated to being progressive with the latest
information & devoted to being excellent with horses.
In saying this, l am still excited to travel and teach, but am excited to offer five Specialized Courses in and
around Rutherglen, Northern Victoria.
Parelli Easter Bonanza.
A three day gathering of Parelli Natural horsemanship. Held locally at one of the many facilities we
use, these days are designed for students riding at all levels. From workshops, to Parelli Tournaments to
Scavenger-Hunts, to private lessons to demonstrations. Each year we offer something new and interesting.
The Easter Bonanza has always been a great dedication to students wishing to spend Easter with their
horses, learning and having fun!
The Game of Contact
Where students can study the components of
Contact leading you towards Collection with New
Zealand based Jackie Hastie (Chant). This subject is
specialized, with Jackie being personally hand-picked
to Instruct, therefore is training exclusively with Linda
Parelli. It’s a wonderful course to get you started into
your understanding of Level 3 and Level 4 Finesse. As
well as this, it will give you more depth into the
brilliant study of horsenality, knowing how to make it
a game for your horse whilst you both gather
confidence in developing feel and timing together.
Horse Development.
Offering time to take in young horses to be developed and started naturally. This can include pre-
training for a specialization as well as Foundation training for horses that may be newly purchased or have
been “turned out” for a period of time and need refreshing to the human world. Your personalised training
report, explaining techniques and theories, as well as rider/handler integration is part of this time.
Personalized Progression.
A unique opportunity for a small group of students (maximum five) to come and study with me for
two full weeks at a leisurely pace. This course will be held at our property, “Iron Tree” Rutherglen. Learning
to achieve more measurable and sustained improvements in our horsemanship skills with the luxury of the a
local vineyards, gourmet eateries and boutique shopping around us, in the lovely rural setting. Horses get to
stay in undercover yards or small grassy paddocks. Camping and local accommodation available.
Super Camp
It’s taken me a while ..... but this year we will see a whole new format of Super Camp! It will be one group
only, with Official Parelli Level 2 and above students, being involved. Carol Coppinger, six star Master
Instructor, will be flying in from the USA to be our guest Instructor, so don’t miss this chance to ride with
Carol and be guaranteed to learn just as much as your horse does!
Carol is amazing ......... and offers lectures, private one-on-one time, as well as stimulating group sessions.
In 2014, we have a whole new Annual Super Camp planned.
Stay tuned!
