Please note: As a result of more stringent legal regulations and judgements regarding product liability, we are obliged to point out certain risks that may arise when products are used under extraordinary operatingconditions.
The mechanical design is based on the environmental conditions as stipulated in ETS 300 019-1-4, whichincludes the static mechanical load imposed on an antenna by wind at maximum velocity.Extraordinary operating conditions, such as heavy icing or exceptional dynamic stress (e.g. strain caused byoscillating support structures), may result in the breakage of an antenna or even cause it to fall to the ground. These facts must be considered during the site planning process.
The installation team must be properly qualified and also be familiar with the relevant national safetyregulations. The details given in our data sheets have to be followed carefully when installing the antennas andaccessories. The limits for the coupling torque of RF-connectors, recommended by the connector manufacturersmust be obeyed.
Any previous datasheet issues have now become invalid.

Material: Reflector screen: Tin plated copper. Radiator: Tin plated zinc.Flat fiberglass radome: The max. radome depth is only 69 mm. Fiber-glass material guarantees optimum performance with regards to stability, stiffness, UV resistance and painting. The colour of the radome is grey. All screws and nuts: Stainless steel.
Grounding: The metal parts of the antenna including the mounting kit and the innerconductors are DC grounded.
Environmental conditions: Kathrein cellular antennas are designed to operate under the environ-mental conditions as described in ETS 300 019-1-4 class 4.1 E. The antennas exceed this standard with regard to the following items:– Low temperature: –55 °C– High temperature (dry): +60 °C
Ice protection: Due to the very sturdy antenna construction and theprotection of the radiating system by the radome, the antenna remainsoperational even under icy conditions.
Environmental tests: Kathrein antennas have passed environmental tests as recommended in ETS 300 019-2-4. The homogenous design of Kathrein’s antennafamilies use identical modules and materials. Extensive tests have beenperformed on typical samples and modules.

Instructions for Antennaswith Adjustable Electrical Downtilt(General Example)
Manual adjustment procedure:(General example)
Remove protective cap. Set downtilt angle by rotatingthe adjustment wheel.
Screw on the protective capagain.
max.° – 0°
0° – max.°
Description of the interface (protective cap removed):
➀ Adjustment wheel withtwist-lock function.
➁ Downtilt spindle with inte-grated scale.
➀ Thread for fixing of theprotective cap or the RCU(Remote Control Unit).
➁ Gearwheel for RCU-powerdrive.
To set the downtilt angleexactly, you must look hori-zontally at the scale. Thelower edge of the gearwheelmust be used for alignmentpurposes.

Attachment of the RCU(General Example)
Attachment of the RCU (Remote Control Unit) for remote-controlled downtilt adjustment:(General example)
Remove the protective capcompletely from the antenna.
Check the proper functioningof the phase-shifter over theentire adjustment range, bytwisting the adjustment wheelin such a way that the spindlemoves completely in and out.
Reset the downtilt to theprevious value.
Completely remove the blackadjustement wheel by simplypulling it downwards.
Push the attachment nut ofthe RCU down towards thehousing.
Place the RCU carefully overthe adjustment spindle, observing the correct align-ment of the RCU with regardsto the antenna, i.e. the flatsurfaces of the attachmentfixture on the antenna sideand those inside the RCUhousing must lie flat againsteach other.
Push-up the RCU carefully tothe stop at the antenna.
Please note!Do not twist the RCU in any way during attaching tothe antenna, as this coulddamage the adjustmentspindle.
Tighten the RCU attachmentnut using a torque-wrench;wrench width = 41 mm, min. torque = 15 Nm,max. torque = 18 Nm.
Connect the RCU controlcable immediately afterattachment of the RCU.
Please note!In cases where a mechani-cal downtilt unit is installed, this must not be set for a downtilt of more than14 degrees.
