Karoo Calendar Principal’s Comments

Farewell to Year 6 students What an honour it was to celebrate the Year 6 Graduation evening with the students and their families. As I said to the students I remember them starting as Preps in 2011- they were cute then but now they are unique young people!

I am proud to acknowledge the dedicated Year 6 staff capably led by Emma Finnerty and supported by Tanya Mollica and Simone Vitas. Together they have supported and encouraged each student to do their best in everything they do. Our specialist teachers Bruce Armstrong, Josh Maroney, Kim Cunningham and John Oldham provided the students with challenging and engaging programs.

To Danielle and Sam our 2017 School Captains and Poppy and Aidan Student Council Captains I thank you for your contributions and support. Together with the Music, Art, Science, ICT, Library and House Captains you have all shown your commitment to your roles and have all been reliable and outstanding Karoo citizens- thank you!

Many thanks to the Year 6 team and the Graduation Committee for providing a great range of activities for the students. It certainly has been a fun- filled week- with lots of opportunities to celebrate and spend time with friends.

The Karoo Community wish every student who is leaving Karoo for secondary school or other primary schools all the best. You leave the school with great values for future learning. 2018 School Structure and Staffing

I would like to thank the dedicated staff at Karoo for their efforts and tireless work, this includes the office staff, ES (Education Support), Rhonda (Wellbeing Officer), Di and Rosa (Canteen), Melissa, Michelle, Rosana, Tim, Kristen and Andrea (Out of School Hours Care) and Norm and Sandra (Cleaning Staff). Finally, thanks to the members of School Council and Karoo Parents Association, we look forward to continuing our partnership next year.
