Mobile Health Clinic Establishment of Mobile Health Clinics is one of the innovative

schemes which will provide health coverage to people living in the unreached and underserved deep interior forest and remote villages.

The Mobile Health Clinics have been outsourced to private health care providers.

The Nanjundappa Committee report, comprehensive composite development index ranking of backward, more backward and most backward taluks is taken as criteria for selection of taluks.

The World Bank procurement procedure, selection of consultant, CQS method followed.

At present totally 123 Mobile Health Clinics have been functional under KHSDRP, out of which 23 taluks are relatively developed taluks(having hilly & forestry terian), 21 taluks are backward taluks, 40 taluks are more backward taluks, and 39 taluks are most backward taluks.

Mobile Health Clinic - KHSDRPPhase I – 5 Mobile Health Clinics were made operationalised at 5 taluks – Sagar, Tarikere, Chamarajanagar, Kollegal and Kumta from June 2008. (7,611 camps conducted and 2,28,359 Beneficiaries treated)

Phase II – 14 Mobile Health Clinics were made operationalised from March 2009 in 9 districts – Bangalore (U)-1, Chikkaballapur-1, Shimoga-1, Tumkur-1, Mysore-1, Belgaum-3, Bagalkote-1, U.K.-4, Bidar-1. (16,714 camps conducted and 5,83,411 Beneficiaries treated)

Phase III – 13 Mobile Health Clinics were operationalised during March 2010 at 11 Districts. Bangalore R- 1, Tumkur-1, Chikmagalur-1, Kodagu-1, U.Kannada-1, Belgaum-3, Bidar-1, Bellary-1, Gulbarga-1, Koppal-1, Raichur-1, (8,587 camps are conducted and 3,94,582 Beneficiaries are treated).

Phase IV – Contract executed for 35 Mobile Health Clinics and Operationalized during July 2010 at 18 Districts - Ramanagara-1, Chitradurga-3, Davanagere-3, Kolar-1, Chikkaballapur-2, Tumkur-6, Chickmagalur-1, Hassan-1, Mandya-2, Mysore-2, Haveri-3, Bagalkote-1, Belgaum-1, Bijapur-2, Bellary-1, Gulbarga-2, Raichur-2, Yadgir-1. (20,607 camps are conducted and 6,92,684 Beneficiaries are treated).

Phase V- 29 Mobile Health Clinics have been operationalised from 20th October 2011 at Chitradurga-3, Chikkaballaour-2, Shimoga-1, D.Kannada-1, Hassan-1, Udupi-1, Belgaum-4, Dharwad-1, Gadag-3, Bagalkote-3, U.Kannada-2, Bellary-2, Bidar-1, Gulbarga-2, Raichur-2, Yadgir-1. (3,798 camps are conducted and 1,15,706 Beneficiaries are treated).

Mobile Health Clinic - NRHM

Phase II - 10 Mobile Health Clinic at Harappanahalli, Srinivaspura, Sorab, Sringeri, Gundlupete, Athani, Indi, Mundargi, Khalghatgi and Yellapura taluks were awarded & operationalised during March 2009 under NRHM. (9,985 camps conducted and 4,68,896 Beneficiaries treated)Phase III- In the III Phase Mobile Health Clinic Contract awarded for 17 taluks at Molkalmooru, Mudigere, Koppa, Nagamangala, Sullia, Hangal, Ramdurga, Sindgi, Aurad, Basavakalyana, Kudligi, Sandur, Aland, Shahapur, Kushtagi, Gangawathi and H.D.Kote under NRHM and were operationalised from March 2010. (12,422 camps are conducted and 3,82,883 Beneficiaries are treated)In all the 30 Districts of the State 123 MHCs are rendering Mobile Health care services, which were operationalised in Five Phases.Action is initiated for retendering 102 Taluks Mobile Health Clinics from Phase I to IV of KHSDRP & NRHM.

CITIZEN HELP DESK & PATIENT COMFORT MONITORING INDEX

Establishment of Citizens Health Help Desk is another innovative scheme which will provide information and guidance to the people on health services in Government Hospitals. These Citizen Help Desks are outsourced to Private Agencies/ NGO’s/Trust.

Patient Comfort Monitoring Index improves and enhance the efficiency of the service providing staff by counseling, confidence building and redressing their grievances by OMR sheet exit interview.

Citizen Help Desk – KHSDRP/NRHMPhase I – 20 Citizen Helpdesk made operationalised in 20 district hospitals (14 under NRHM and 6 under KHSDRP) from March 2009. Now 18 Citizen Help Desks MoU revalidated for one more year under NRHM from March 2010 at 17 Districts- Bangalore (U)-2, Ramanagara-1, Chitradurga-1, Davanagere-1, Kolar-1, Chikkaballapur-1, Tumkur-1, Chickmagalur-1, Kodagu-1, Dakshina Kannada-1, Dharwad-1, Gadag-1, Haveri-1, Uttara Kannada-1, Bidar-1, Gulbarga-1, Raichur-1. (No. of feedback received- 11,55,773, No. feedback attended- 11,07,244)Phase II – Contract executed for 19 Citizen Help Desks and Operationalised during July 2010 at 14 Districts- Bangalore (U)-5, Kolar-1, Shimoga-1, Chamarajanagar-1, Kodagu-1, Hassan-1, Udupi-1, Mandya-1, Mysore-2, Dakshina Kannada-1, Dharwad-1, Belgaum-1 Bellary-1, Koppal-1.(No. of feedback received- 13,65,051, No. feedback attended- 12,66,019)In all 37 CHDs in 26 Districts operationalised in Two Phases.Action is initiated for retendering 39 Citizen Help Desk of Phase I to II of KHSDRP & NRHM. Patient Comfort Monitoring Index is established in 2 District Hospitals at Chikkaballapur & Ramanagar from March 2012.

Regional Diagnostic Laboratories

4 Regional Diagnostic Laboratories (Mandya, Bidar, Bellary & Dharwad) are being taken up by the Directorate of Medical Education and they are attached to Govt. Medical Colleges.

2 Regional Diagnostic Laboratories (Tumkur and Bagalkot) are outsourced during March 2012.

1 Regional Diagnostic Laboratory at Chitradurga is attached to District Hospital, Chitradurga since none of the Consultants qualified during outsourcing.
