INTRODUCTIONCongratulations for purchasing the Phonic KA920 Karaoke Mixing Amplifier, another great innovation bound to provide you with hours of enjoyment at a time. The power provided to users by the KA920 surpasses that of the average Karaoke mixer, pumping 460 Watts of power to each channel.

Featuring a total of 6 microphone inputs, as well as 4 line inputs, the KA920 features a multi-functional remote control for easy adjustment of various properties. Karaoke audio and video are input via the four included sets of RCA inputs, and output via the two sets of RCA outputs.

This user’s manual should be read thoroughly and stored in an easy to find place for future reference. If you do, however, lose the manual, you can easily download another one by logging onto www.phonic.com.

BASIC SETUPThe KA920 Karaoke Mixing Amplifier can be rack mounted, and will take up 3 standard rack units to do so. Your first step, provided you wish to mount the KA920 into a rack, should be to do so. Four screws, firmly in place on each corner of the unit, will do the trick.

After this, you may wish to connect your various input and output devices. The four different RCA input channels provide you with enough to room for a DVD player with karaoke function (or simply a DVD player, for use between karaoke sets), an actual karaoke machine, a PC computer (for users who opted to have the VGA inputs and outputs), or even a standard CD player (which will not feature video output, but can be used regardless). The Microphone inputs on the front of the KA920 are provided for the addition of, you guessed it, microphones. If condenser microphones are added to the KA920, be sure to activate the Phantom power.

Plugging the RCA audio and video outputs of the KA920 allows the audio and video to be sent to a television set or video projection device. Passive speakers can be connected to the main audio outputs and positioned for the best listening experience.

Use the provided AC power cord to connect the KA920 to an appropriate power source. Be sure to check the voltage selector is adjusted correctly before turning the unit on.

Front Panel

1. Power ButtonThis button activates the KA920 Karaoke Mixer. When pushed in, the LED will light up and your unit will be functional.

2. Remote SensorPoint the Infra red remote control at this and give it a click. Provided the control has batteries, something should happen.

3. Line InputThis is a 1/4” TRS input, which accepts line-level devices for signals to be fed through to the KA920 Karaoke Mixing Console. This can be used for microphones that use 1/4” jacks, however can also extend to certain instruments or audio equipment.

4. Mic InputThis is known as female XLR jack, which allows you to plug microphones into the mixer. Singers are then able to do their thing, the result of which will be sent to the main mix at a level determined by the channel’s gain and level controls.

5. Gain ControlThe gain control allows users to increase and decrease the level of the signal received through the Mic and line inputs. This can help boost the signal prior to it being adjusted by the channel controls.

6. 3-band EQ (Low, High, Mid Controls)These controls give a shelving boost or cut of 15 dB to high frequency (12 kHz), middle frequency (2.5 kHz) and low frequency (80 Hz) sounds. Depending on the strengths of the vocalist, it may be desirable to cut middle frequency sounds a little bit, while boost high and low frequencies slightly.

7. Echo ControlThese controls adjusts the level of audio that is sent from the individual channel to the Echo Mixing Bus.

8. Level ControlThe level control is quite simply allows users to adjust the final output level of that particular channel, the signal of which is sent to the main mixing bus.

9. Mic 5 & 6These individual Microphone inputs are similar to input channels 1 through to 4, however do not feature 1/4” phone jacks, EQs or level controls. These channels do feature echo and gain controls, however, allowing users to adjust the audio level sent to the echo and main mixes, respectively.

1. Input SelectionThese buttons allow users to select from the 4 different input sources.

2. Key Return ButtonPressing the Key Return Button returns the key of the music signal back to normal.

3. Mic Volume ControlThese buttons allow users to adjust the volume of the KA920's microphone inputs.

4. Music Volume ControlThese buttons allow users to adjust the volume of the KA920's music.

5. Key Change ButtonsPressing the up (#) and down (b) buttons allow users to adjust the key of the music signal in half step increments. The other 6 buttons allow users to instantly change the key of the signal by up to 3 keys (higher or lower). Please refer to point 21 for more information.

Batteries: The KA920 Remote Control Unit takes 2 AA batteries, which should be correctly aligned within the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit for it to be operational.

Built-in Echo10. Echo ControlThis control adjusts the level of saturation of the repeat and delay effects added to the signal received from each channel (as determined by Echo Control on each individual channel).

11. Repeat ControlThis control allows users to adjust level of the repeat effect, built into the KA920, the final level of which is adjusted by the Echo controls on individual channels. Basically, it determines the degree of attenuation between each repeat.

12. Delay ControlThis control allows users to adjust the delay time of the signal sent to the Echo Mixing Bus. Working in conjunction with the Repeat Control, users are able to apply a very interesting echoing effect to vocals, if they wish. 13. Reverb ControlThis control allows users to add a reverb effect to their audio, basically controlling the level of the processed audio sent from the Echo mixing bus to the main mixing bus.

Main Section14. Mic Volume ControlThis control adjusts the volume of all microphone input channels combined, allowing users to easily adjust vocals to suit the music.

15. 3-band System EQ Just like the EQ on each channel, the system EQ gives a shelving boost or cut of 15 dB to high frequency (12 kHz), middle frequency (2.5 kHz) and low frequency (80 Hz) sounds. Only the music inputs are affected by the system equalizer.

16. EFX In ControlThis control adjusts the level of any signal fed through the EFX input, sent to the main audio mix.

17. Balance ControlThis alternates the degree or level of audio that the left and right side of the main mix should receive. By adjusting the balance control, users affectively attenuate the left or right audio signals according to the degree of their rotations.

18. Input SelectionThese buttons allow users to select from the various inputs with the touch of a button. This ensures users to can simply switch from a single input source to another, without the hassle of rewiring

19. Music Volume ControlThis control adjusts the volume of the music, allowing users to attenuate or intensify the level accordingly.

20. Level MeterThe KA920’s level meter gives an accurate indication of when audio levels of the main signal reach certain levels. To make the maximum use of audio, set the various levels controls so that the uppermost LED of the level meter flashes only occasionally, or not at all.

21. Key Control and IndicatorsThis area allows users to control the key of the music currently selected (through use of the input select buttons), and does not affect the vocal channels whatsoever. The key can be increased or decreased in half-key increments by pressing the appropriate buttons (the top button being increase, the lower button being decrease). The center key is used to return the music back to its original state.

When a key is increase by half a step, two of the included LEDs will illuminate to indicate the key is half way between the two. When the key is increased by another half step, only the single LED will illuminate (and so on). The maximum a user can increase or decrease the key by is 4 steps.

Rear Panel22. Video and Audio InputsThese RCA jacks allow users to connect video and audio inputs to the KA920. The RCA jacks are color-coded, yellow being video, white being the left audio channel and red being the right audio channel.

23. Video and Audio OutputsThese two sets of RCA jacks are for the output of video and audio from the KA920 to televisions or video projectors and/or stereo systems. The Preamp output (the output of which is not affected by the balance control on the front panel) can be used for displaying the video and audio signals to a small television set for monitoring purposes.

24. EFX InputThese 1/4” phone jacks are for returning the EFX signal to the KA920, after being processed by an external signal processor. The EFX Input signal is adjusted by the EFX In control located on the front panel of the KA920.

25. EFX OutputThis jack outputs the main signal to external processors to be returned via the EFX input.

26. EQ In and OutThese stereo RCA inputs and outputs allow users to extract the main audio signal from the KA920, send it off to an external equalizer, and then return it to the device once more. They can also be used to incorporate many different types of effect processors, depending on the necessary use.Users are advised to leave the included bridges in place unless adding an external device to the KA920, as doing so will stop any signal from going through the mixer.

27. FanThis fan is for cooling of the KA920 karaoke mixer, and should not be obstructed at any time. Doing so may cause overheating in the product.

28. Main Output JacksThese Speakon and binding-post terminals are for the addition of passive speakers to the KA920. Users can connect standard Speakon connectors or banana plugs to these terminals to get the final, amplified signal of the KA920. In addition to using banana plugs with the included binding posts, users may also opt to use free-wires to connect to the KA920. To do so, simply unscrew the binding post, slide the wire into the small hole in the binding post, and screw the binding post back in. Ensure no wire is exposed after the connection is made.

29. VGA In and OutThese inputs and outputs are for the connection of typical VGA cables, common to Personal Computers and monitors. They enable users to included computer-video signals to the KA920, and send the video output to a typical computer monitor. Please note that the VGA out can only send the VGA inout signal, and not the RCA video inputs.

30. Phantom PowerTurning the phantom power on gives all microphone inputs (1-6) a boost in power, allowing condenser microphones to be used affectively with the KA920. Provided are individual DIP switches for each microphone input.

31. Voltage SelectorThis switch allows users to adjust the KA920 to areas with varying voltage levels. For example, in the United States, the switch would be set to 115V, whereas in, say, England, it would be set to 230V. Users should check local voltage levels before operating this unit.

32. Power ConnectorThis is for the addition of an AC power source to the KA920 unit.

CONFIGURACIóN BáSICALa mezcladora amplificada de Karaoke KA920 puede ser montada en rack y, tan solo tomara 3 unidades estándar de rack para hacer esto. Tu primer paso, será tu deseo de montar en rack la KA920, y deberás de hacerlo. Colocar cuatro tornillos firmemente en su lugar y se hará la magia.

Después de esto, tal vez quieras conectar tus diferentes dispositivos de entrada, y salida. Las cuatro diferentes canales de entradas RCA, te dan suficiente espacio para un reproductor DVD con funciones de karaoke (o para un simple reproductor DVD, para utilizar entre las presentaciones de karaoke), la máquina actual

de karaoke, una PC (para los usuarios que optan por tener las entradas y salidas VGA), o hasta un reproductor de CD normal (que no tiene una salida de video pero que de todas maneras puede ser utilizado). Las entadas de Micrófono en la parte frontal del KA920 están provistas para la adición de, si lo adivinaste, micrófonos. 11. Control de RepeticiónEste control permite a los usuarios ajustar el nivel del efecto de repetición, integrado a la KA920, este es ajustado por los controles de Eco en los canales individuales. Básicamente, determina el grado de atenuación entre cada repetición.

12. Control de DelayEste control permite a los usuarios ajustar el retraso de tiempo de la señal enviada al bus de mezcla de Eco. Trabajando en conjunto con el Control de Repetición, los usuarios pueden aplicar un efecto de eco muy interesante a las voces, si lo quieren.

13. Control de ReverbEste control permite a los usuarios agregar un efecto de reverberación a su audio, básicamente controlando el nivel del audio enviado al bus de mezcla de Eco al bus principal.

Sección Principal14. Control de Volumen de MicrófonoEste control ajusta el volumen de todos los canales de entrada de micrófono combinados, permitiendo a los usuarios ajustar fácilmente las voces para que igualen su música.

15. 20. Medidor de NivelEl medidor de nivel de la KA920 ofrece una indicación precisa de cuando los niveles de audio de la señal principal alcanzan ciertos niveles. Cuando se incrementa un tono por la mitad, dos de los LEDs incluidos se iluminaran para indicar que la llave esta a medio camino de las dos. 基本设定

KA920 卡拉OK功放调音台可���，�可���，�3个��单元。如果您想安�

��，首先请您将4个螺丝固定在机身的每个角，然后就可以连接

各种输入和输出设备了。本机有4个不同的RCA输入通道，给有卡

拉OK功能的DVD播放器、卡拉OK机、个人计算机 (有VGA输入和输

出)、CD播放器 (无视频输入，但也可用)充分的使用空间。KA920前面板上有麦克风输入，可外接麦克风，如果使用的是电容式麦克

风，请启用幻象电源。

KA920的RCA音频和视频输出可接电视机或视频投放设备传输音视

频信号，主要音频输出上也可接无源音箱，放置于合适方位，将

会给您带来耳目一新的听觉享受。

请使用随附的电源线把KA920接到电压合适的电源，请先将电压选

择器选择正确后打开本机。

可从4种不同的输入模式中进行选择。

2. 音调复位

按下此键就可以将音乐信号的变音调恢复正常。

3. 麦克风音量控制

可用于调节KA920麦克风输入的音量大小。

4. A/V音乐音量控制

此键可以调节KA920 A/V输入音频的音量大小。

5. 音调调节键

按上(#)下(b)键就能以半音阶变化调节音乐信号的音调。其它6个键

可在3音阶范围内实时改变信号音调，详情请参阅21点。

电池：KA920的遥控器用2节AA电池，请将其按正确方向置于电池

此1/4” TRS输入插孔可输入高电平设备输出的信号。使用1/4”插头麦

克风，也可接其它的乐器和音频设备。

4. 麦克风输入

经此母XLR插孔可将麦克风连到本调音台，麦克风使用者发送的信

号就被传送到主混音，其电平由通道增益和电平控制决定。

5. 增益控制

可用此旋钮调节经麦克风和高电平输入信号电平。

6. 3段均衡 (高中低频控制)可对高频 (12kHz) 中频 (2.5kHz) 和低频 (80Hz) 提升或

衰减15dB。根据人声的特点，适当削减中频声音提

升高低频声音将会更有效果。

7. 回音控制

可调节由独立通道输入至效果器的音频电平。

8. 电平控制

可调节其通道的终端输出电平，其信号发送至主

要混音总线。

9. Mic 5&6此独立的麦克风输入类似于输入信道1-4，虽然没有

节，每次重复间的削减度基本由此重复控

制来决定。

12. 延迟控制

此旋钮可用以调节输入至回音混音总线信

号的延迟时间。如果与重复控制一起使

用，就可以修饰人声达到回音效果。

13. 混响控制

可用以增加音频的混响效果，控制从回

音混音总线输出至主要混音总线经过处

理的音频电平。

可将人声音量调节到音乐适配的水平。

15. 3段系统均衡

系统均衡也和信道上的均衡一样，可对高频 (12kHz) 中频 (2.5kHz) 和低频 (80Hz) 提升或衰减15dB。但系统均衡器只调节 A/V 输入的

音频信号。

16. 效果输入控制

此控制可调节从EFX插孔输入的又传送至主要音频混音的信号电

平大小。

17. 平衡控制

可用以改变主要混音左右边的音频和电平大小。

18. 输入选择

可从各种A/V输入中进行选择，无需重新接线，便可实现对各种

A/V信号输入源的轻松转换。

19. 音乐音量控制

可用于调节音乐音量，旋转旋钮就可相应衰减或增强其电平。

20. 电平表

主信号的音频电平达一定电平时，KA920的电平表会准确显示。

为充分应用电平，设定各种电平控制让最上面的PEAK LED电平

指示灯不亮或偶尔亮。

21. 音调控制和指示灯

可用于控制当前所选音乐 (用输入选择键选择) 的音调，但不会影

响到声音通道。按下相应的键就能以半音阶增量对音调进行增加

或衰减，上面的键可用以增加，下面的键可用以衰减，中间的键

可将音乐恢复至原状态。

如果音调增加半阶，两个LED灯亮，表示音调在两音之间，如

果音调又增加半阶，只有一个LED灯亮。最多可增加或衰减4个音阶。

22. 视频和音频输入

可通过这些RCA插座将视频和音频输入连接

到本机。RCA插座按不同色彩分类，黄色的

是视频，白色的是左音频通道，红色的是

右音频通道。

23. 视频和音频输出

可经这两组RCA插座将KA920的视频和音频输出传送到电视机或

视频放映机或立体声系统。前置放大器输出 (其输出不受平衡控

制的影响)。

24. 效果输入

可经此1/4” 耳机插孔将外部信号处理器处理的效果信号输入至

KA920，效果输入信号可由前面板上的效果输入控制进行调节。

25. 效果输出

经效果输入返送的主要信号可由此插孔输出至外部信号处理

器。

26. 均衡输入和输出

立体声输入和输出RCA可从KA920音轨输出主要音频信号，再发

送至外部均衡器，然后再返送至本机。根据不同的使用可接不

同的效果处理器。

如果不接外部设备的话建议您适当断开桥接，这样就可以有效阻

止信号经调音台传输。

27. 风扇

可用以冷却KA920卡拉OK调音台，为防止产品内部过热，请勿阻

断其运作。

28. 主要输出插孔

可经Speakon和接线柱终端插孔连接音箱。您可用Speakon连接器

或香蕉插头。除可用接线柱接香蕉插头外，也可用无插头的音箱

线，旋开接线柱螺丝，将线接入接线柱的小孔，再旋紧接线柱，

请确保裸线无外漏。
