Our Story:•City founded 1745•First Historic Districtin 1952 •1976 Carroll Creek Flood coincides with loss of department stores to first mall and new interstates to DC/Baltimore•Partnership founded in 1990•Floodway improvements in the 1990s •Carroll Creek design enhancements completed in 2006

Downtown Frederick is BIG BUSINESS…Some 7,000 people go to work in Downtown Frederick every day and

patronize the more than 150 locally-owned specialty shops and 50 restaurants located on our ever-expanding commercial corridors

Event related spending by arts & culture audiences in Frederick County totaled $6.6 million (excluding the cost of admission)

their success• In 2012, 66% of Downtown Frederick businesses
