    Things you should know about camp!

    1. Camper Pick Up & Drop OffStructured program is from 9:00am to 4:00pm daily. Supervised drop off is from 8:00am to 9:00am and supervised pickup is from 4:00pm to 5:15pm. Campers 9 years and under MUST be accompanied by an adult to morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Please ensure that regular escorts and emergency contacts are recorded with your registration. Only the adults listed will be permitted to pick up your child(ren). Children are NOT allowed to leave without written consent from a parent or guardian.

    2. AgesParticipants must turn 4 years of age by July 1, 2013 and may not exceed maximum age as of December 31, 2013. Leaders will take age differences into account when programming activities.

    3. Lunch and SnacksDue to the number of life-threatening allergies that children in camps have to peanuts/nuts, our summer camps have become a nut aware environment. We therefore request all parents avoid sending peanut or nut products to camps. Please send energizing foods including fruits, vegetables, breads and drinks. Limiting sugary foods is highly recommended.

    4. Medical InformationHealth and Safety is our number one priority. Please ensure that the camper information section is completed and that we have up to date information about your childs medical conditions including doctors name and an emergency contact that can be reached during the hours of 8:00am to 5:15pm.

    5. SwimmingCampers enjoy 1 hour of pool time daily.

    6. What to BringParents will receive a Parent Handbook which outlines specific policies and details as to what campers should bring.

    7. Code of Conduct/BehavioursFollow program guidelines and rules that will be discussed each morning Remain with your program leader at all times Play cooperatively; bullying, teasing or offensive language will not be tolerated Children whose behaviour or actions compromise their safety or the safety of others will be sent home for the day and/or asked to

    July 2 to July 5

    Its time for campers to put on a straw hat, grab a pitchfork and get ready to go down on the farm this week. Kids will be constructing a farm, learning about farm animals, lassoing and participating in a Hoedown Throwdown! It is sure to be a hoot n hollerin experience.

    Let your imagination run wild as we use teamwork, creativity and problem solving to think the unthinkable. We will make our own candles, our own jet packs and hang out with Bill Nye and another cool science guy! A trip to Bingeman Park in Waterloo will also add to the excitement!

    Week 3Around the World in 5 Plates

    July 15 to July 19

    Take a trip around the world as we celebrate culinary creations from Europe, South America and Alaska including yapingachos, baked Alaska and fettuccine Bolognese. This week is sure to fill your belly with delicious creations made daily.

    Week 4Getting Dirty

    Roll up your sleeves and get ready for a week of gooey, messy fun. Make a paper mache piggy bank, create an herb garden and a slimetacular special event. We will also enjoy the fun of Harrison Park in Owen Sound.

    The hunt is on. Kamp K goes on an adventure in search of the unknown treasure. Make your own treasure chest, build a periscope, a catapult and solve clues to find the unknown treasure. A hike through Wiarton Caves and a swim at the Wiarton pool will make the week an adventure for everyone!

    August 6 to August 9

    Come inside our Disney castle at Kamp Kummoniwannago for a magical adventure you wont forget. Be prepared to have tea with Alice in Wonderland, go on a journey with Woody and Buzz and race next to Lightning McQueen on the track! Dress up as your favourite Disney Princess, come in your Avengers armour or prepare to save the world as your favourite super hero!

    Week 7Behind the Scenes

    August 12 to August 16

    Do you want to be the next superstar? How about a paramedic or firefighter? Campers will tour the town going behind the scenes and into the spotlight. Campers will create a skit presented on Friday afternoon. A trip to Storybook Park will round out the week.

    End the summer with a bang! Kamp K prepares to celebrate the end of the summer with a variety of activities including boat racing, a game of Quidditch, celebrations day, and a trip to Hanover Park. Join us for our annual Paint the Leader and Slime the Leader celebrations.

    What can you do with a roll of duct tape, a pizza box or a few paper plates? This week were reusing and recycling to create hip pieces of clothing, trending wallets, and fabulous footwear. Get creative! This is a week sure to spark your imagination. A trip to Bingemans Park in Waterloo will surely add to the excitement.

    Week 2Media Mania

    July 22 to July 26

    We live in a technology-driven world. This week teens will explore a variety of media driven careers including radio broadcasting, newspaper publishing and website design. Create your own magazine cover and write a promotional piece for the paper. A trip to Grey Roots Museum will add to the adventure.

    Week 3Iron Chef

    July 29 to August 2

    Grab your spatula, tongs and whisk. This week is sure to provide campers with new cooking experiences as they work to create a different menu item each day. From salad and soup to main entrees, each chef will master their technique alongside special guests. End the week with a trip to the Wiarton Caves.

    Dance CampAn exciting partnership with Grey-Bruce School of Dance to add another creative camp option for children and youth! Participants will discover a new dance form each day including jazz, ballet and hip-hop. Daily crafts and activities as well as a daily swim are also included. Parents and friends are invited to a performance at the end of the week.     Full Swing Golf CampInstructional activities will focus on proper gripping of the club, rules of the game, golf etiquette, putting, chipping, and driving the ball. There will be lots of opportunity to practice plus on-course lessons Wednesday and Friday. Participants are required to supply their own golf clubs. The golf course does have a limited supply available for use. All participants will receive a coupon for a free childs green fee valid Monday to Friday.About the instructors Doug Day is a certified golf pro with the Canadian Professional Golf Association and has been teaching golf for 40 years. Darrell Day played on the Junior Tour and is a graduate of Seneca College.     Cheerleading CampCheerleading camp will teach participants about flexibility, balance, stunting, dancing, jumping, teamwork and all of the other attributes needed to be a cheerleader. There will also be crafts, games and pool time each day. At the end of each week there will be a performance for parents and friends. No experience needed.About the Instructor Courtney Hicks attended Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton where she was part of the cheerleading team for four years. She was also the captain if the team in her 2 senior years. She has been involved with the Walkerton Illusions Cheerleading and Baton group since she was 9. She has had experiences being on baton and cheerleading teams and coaching them.

    CircusCampinHanoverLetsDoItAgain!Come join the circus right here in Hanover! Its for everyone. During this one week camp your kids will learn skills that include trapeze, hoop, aerial skills, juggling, hula hoop, tight wire, clowning and more. The kids will receive many benefits from this program including increased health, creativity, and self-esteem. At the end of this one-week program, your kids will put on a circus show for parents and family at the Hanover Family Centre!About the Instructor Angola Murdoch was born and raised in Grey/Bruce County and went on to be an international aerial circus performer and has taught circus all over the world. She has received the highest level circus coaching certificate at the National Circus School in Montreal. Other instructors include Second City Alumni Jenny Parsons and Grey/Bruce Countys own fire spitter, Vita Bowen.   • Art Camp with Susan SeitzLaughter and fun-filled joy is expressed throughout the day when children are given the opportunity to be creative! Using professional paint supplies & tools, your young artist will experience: acrylic painting, watercolours, art journals, storytelling, dancing, sketching, and so much more! Children will be engaged in all sorts of creative fun, learning techniques and wonderful ways to express their inner joy! Swimming daily at the Hanover Regional Aquatic Centre will be included.About the Instructor Susan Seitz is an award winning artist, photographer, and art teacher who offers workshops and Art Camp at her home studio outside of Paisley, The Southampton Art School and Elizabeths Art Gallery in Goderich.     Peak Performance First Aid & Water Sports Camp A hands on opportunity to introduce athletes of all ages to the sport of lifesaving and lifeguarding while encouraging healthy living and regular physical fitness.     Stars of the Stage-Drama CampCalling all performers! Attend drama camp with a talent show theme!     Gymnastics CampGymnastics Camp is a great place for boys and girls to stay active and have fun while developing balance, co-ordination, flexibility, and strength. Campers will be supervised by experienced coaches and will have the opportunity to learn bars, beam, vault, floor, climbing ropes, rings, trampoline, tumble track and more! Each day will also include crafts, games, time outside, and swimming at the Hanover Regional Aquatic Centre. Our week will end with campers performing a gymnastics show for family and friends.   • Puppetry PizzazzPuppetry Pizzazz is back for another week of magic, using black light theatre for stagecraft and co-operative performance. Campers will create and take home a variety of puppets. They will learn about the history and practice of puppetry in a variety of cultures, improve their use of voice and of sound effects to help them animate a story while developing character and story-telling skills. Swimming daily at the Hanover Regional Aquatic Centre is also included.About the Instructor Scott Armstrong caught the acting bug in high school thanks to a fantastic drama teacher. He received an acting diploma from Ryerson University and holds an honours degree in Theatre from the University of Guelph.
