1. INTRODUCTION

Kalika Engineering Consultancy., is a service and advice oriented consulting firm established in 2010 (Registration No.57/3863/067/068) and registered with the Ministry of Industries, Government of Nepal. Its office is located in Indra Pur -3, Banke, Nepal. The consulting firm is backed by a number of highly motivated energetic and result oriented professionals specialized in various Technical, Social and Environmental disciplines. Apart from these, several professionals are also associated with the firm as resource person whose services are being used as and when needed. The Consultant is established to render engineering consultancy services for various development activities in the country, which includes Research & development of rural area by alternative infrastructure Technology like Local Ropeway Technology, Rural Roads & Bridges, Alternative Energy, River Crossing Technology, Gravity Ropeway, Irrigation, Water Supply & Sanitation, Water Resources and Hydropower, Agriculture, Forestry and Socio-economic Studies, Master plan of different sector like Tourism, Energy etc. At present, this company has over 10 regular full time staff consisting of Managers, Civil Engineers, Socio-economists, Surveyors, Agriculturists, Junior Technicians and Administrative Staff. The company also has part time staffs in different fields as Civil Engineering, Agriculture, Forestry, Community Development, Institutional Development and Economy apart from the engineering disciplines. 2. ORGANIZATION The capabilities of Kalika Engineering Consultancy can be attributed to the spontaneity of its organization. The executive panel of Kalika Engineering Consultancy organization is composed of a Chair person and Director. The Organization Chart is given in figure 1.1 Expert level personnel consist of competent engineers of different disciplines and economists working in an atmosphere of complete interaction with the Director. Supporting the upper echelon of management are efficient secretarial staff, technicians, surveyors, draftspersons whose contribution cannot, in anyway, be discounted in the overall functioning of the firm. Kalika Engineering Consultancy is construed to avoid development of bureaucracy and hierarchy, which can stagnate the dynamism of a firm that has to be extremely flexible to subsist in the present scenario of severe competition. Development of latent talent in the personnel employed is allowed to grow in an atmosphere of independent work with timely meetings of executive to discuss orientations and interfacing with other facets of project and management. A feeling of being valuable and productive is thus the catalytic force that drives all members of the organization. The organizational structure is as shown below.

3. OBJECTIVE OF THE COMPANY

• To carry out pre feasibility study, feasibility study, detailed survey, design & cost estimation, and installation and construction supervision on the Infrastructures like Rural Road and Bridge, Airport, Irrigation, Water supply and Sanitation, renewable sources of energy such as solar, biogas, and wind energy, Alternative Transportation (local ropeway technology, gravity ropeway, mechanized bridge, river crossing technology (Tuin, Ghirling etc)) and Infrastructure Technology and other resources and supporting on their appropriate management, modernization and expansion.

• Bringing the local manpower to the mainstream of all round development of the country by providing the awareness to the local human resources for the appropriate technology management and development of renewable energy in the rural areas.

• Making research & investigation of local ropeway technology (Mechanized Bridge, Gravity Ropeway and Nepali Cable Car), river crossing technology (Multi Span Tuin, Ghirling etc.), study in developing efficient hybrid turbine (micro-francis turbine), water pumping for water supply and irrigation utilizing locally generated electricity.

• Implementation and management of renewable energy resources and benefiting all stakeholders by providing consulting services with quality output within scheduled time.

• Civil works construction and supervision of innovative works such as modified river crossing technology, efficient gravity ropeway, with the best engineering practices and quality/ standards.

• Identifying the society with the modern technology improving the traditional local technology. • Research, investigation, and identification of the possible means and resources found in the local level. • Supporting on the rural infrastructure technology development basically alternative energy and alternative transportation with

the optimum utilization of the local manpower, making the research, investigation, and identification of the possible means and resources found in the local level.

• To bring a unique perspective and understanding to the issues faced by the development of solutions sensitive to the need for appropriate technologies and methods in relation with cultural, economic, environmental and geophysical realities of each region of our country.

8.1 Offices The office space is located in the prime location in Indrapur- 3, Banke near the Bheri Technical Institue which has

the benefit of having quick and easy access to all the important and concerned authorities. Kalika Engineering Consultancy has two no of working rooms, 900 sq. ft. of office space for its operational functioning.

8.2 Computers

Kalika Engineering Consultancy uses Pentium IV computers. The computers are linked to laser printers for high quality text/graphics output. Kalika Engineering Consultancy has AutoCAD 2007 with a full complement of architectural, engineering, land development, HYDRA Nepal, Micro Hydro Design Aid, SAP 2000, GIS Software, and surveying software. The latest versions both of Auto CAD and Intergraph software are used by the depending on the specific needs of the project. Our software library contains numerous application software related to Ropeway, Water Supply, Hill irrigation and Green Road etc.

8.3 Libraries

Kalika Engineering Consultancy has a technical library that contains a vast array of reference materials, manuals, textbooks, periodicals and journals needed in research efforts.

8.4 Technical Facilities

Kalika Engineering Consultancy has full array of facilities, equipment and tools necessary for architectural and engineering design and development. Drafting areas, layout rooms, integration facilities, etc. are essential for our services. These facilities are supported by computers and engineering references.
