CONCEPT AND ELEMENTSAKTU Startup Policy and Initiative shall cover the following visions:
1. Creating an ecosystem for promoting innovations and start-ups for students and alums of Dr. A.P.J.Abdul KalamTechnical University,Lucknow
2. Communicating and designing curriculumwhich can help startups grow
3. Outreach and awareness program
4. Helping affiliated colleges nurtureand enhance entrepreneurshipprogram
5. Creating an end-to-end mentorship and incubation model for the potential startups
6. Buildingavenues of partnership and integration with other organizations and agencies in each of these aspects

• 26 July – Pitchingof innovative ideas with three investors (Mr.Anand Govindaluri of SAI,Mr Bala & Mr.Rastogi), three innovativeprojects get selected to be funded by Govin Capital Singapore.Rs 1 million each
• 27 July – 2nd InternationalYouth Conclave on Creating Livable Planet Earth,conclave organized at AKTU new campus where Investors shared dash with honorableGovernor sir andVice ChancellorofAKTU.
• Conclave was participated by Shri Jayant Sahasrabuddhe (NationalOrganizing Secretary,Vijnana Bharati),Shri Tanveer Khan (Head Marketing,BIC Cello-India) (Mumbai) (partner organization)
• Three innovative entrepreneurs are offered with 10 Lakh cheque
• 8August – Exhibition of 16 innovative projects at Indra Gandhi Pratisthan in a event“Ayodyogik Sikcha ke Badhte Kadam”

SIF AND E-CELL (1/2)STARTU P INCU BATION FACILITY
1. SIF will be the primary point of contact for all budding startups from amongst the student and register them
2. It can also mentor external students/alums as long as oneperson in the team is a college student oralumni
3. To organize one event on entrepreneurship at everyfortnight.KCIIS will send speakers for the larger events
4. Assist in coordinating with departments of thecollege to help startup enthusiasts develop from idea to prototype stage
5. Identify STARTUP sparks from the campus
6. Act as satellite centers of KCIIS
IGNITED MIND E - CELLS
1. Ignited Mind E-Cell or Entrepreneurship Cell will be responsible for running the SIF
2. It will constitute of 1-2 faculty mentors and supported by at least 2 departmentheads and Director
3. It will be have a 4-member student body to operate it. AKTU encourages the e-cell committee to havediversity. These members will be connected over social media for taking forward activities of the Ignited Minde-cell in their campuses.
4. It will responsible for:
a) Organizing events on startup and host research projects
b) Creating market research, technology research papers and reports. Some of these would qualify for events organized by the KCIIS-AKTU
c) Host webinars (content to be provided by KCIIS), eventsand talks on various topics
d) Represent the college in meetings, conclaves and seminars based on innovation and startups

1. KCIIS will recognize the Startup Sparks from the campus and give them the listed facility and funding (discussed later)
2. KCIIS will provide access to all the pooled labs to the partnerSIF
3. KCIIS will also provide access to investment seminars, hackathons and otherevents organized

STARTUP SPARKS PROGRAM (1/3)Ignited Mind – Startup Sparks program will be key towards identifying, nurturing and developing a student from “idea” to “enterprise”. It will be:
1. A three tier program – Level 1, II, III. Students will be enrolled to the first level and based on performance and interest they will move upwards – eachstage having a deliverable
2. Startup Sparks will be recruited:
A. Nominations from participating college
B. Via Parikrama (discussed later)
3. Ignited Mind Startup Sparks program will stress on:
A. Awareness and Goal clarity
B. Ideation
C. Mentorship
D. Investment and incubationsupport
STARTUP SPARKS PROGRAM (2/3)
Identified via participating colleges andParikrama
Focus on awareness and short courses, mostly webinars on financial planning, ideation,b-plan and communication
Login to be created to access contentand tasks and monitor their program
Selected from candidateswhocomplete level 1 training and present an acceptable business plan preferably with a basic prototype
Lab usage hours allotted (50 per candidate) from AKTU.Travel allowance of Rs.2500 per selected candidate
Candidates to submit a workingprototype with scalability and marketing plan at the end.Must also complete training modules and workshops and attend investment conclaves
Upto 40 top candidates selected forincubation (with or withoutexternal investment)
University KCIIS incubation supportavailable to them for one year – upto Rs. 10000 pm + 25,000 for travel + 10000 for IT besides space available to them.(Provided they are not getting it from other sources)
Incubatees to pay for their expenses and KCIIS usage once they start generating revenues
KCIIS will also help registration ofcompany, IPR, legal support, basic website,goto-market mentorship and linking with bank, state and central government schemes

START UP SPARKS - SHARED POOL OF LAB (3/3)• Participating colleges are to allow access of laboratories to their selected StartUp Sparks
• Participating colleges are also encouraged to allow laboratory access (for those facilities not available in their own campus) to StartUp Sparks from other institutions based on hourly billing
• Each StartUp Star Level II will be given upto 50 Lab Equivalent Hours (at base rate) from AKTU.When the StartUp uses a lab outside his/her own institution the appropriate lab hours will be deducted and the reimburseddirectly to the lab byAKTU
• No Lab Usage can be claimed for home lab use
• AKTU will establish an hourly rate of each lab based on cost/investment and machine usage cost
• The base rate established will be 200 per hour.For more complex labs the rate will be a multipleof this base rate.
• Cost of material usage will have to be directly borne by the StartUp Star or their home institute
• List of Pool Labs will be available on the KCIIS website with the necessary information for booking slot
The goal of Lab Pooling is to maximize the return on investment to all Startups fromAKTU in a manner which is fair to the colleges too

STARTUP PARIKRAMA (1/6)• UP Startup Parikrama is a state-wide effort to foster entrepreneurship and help Startups
• UP is the state with highest youth population and may create the job requirement of everysector.
• Startup Parikrama is a state-wide Campaign for Potential Entrepreneurs,Students,existing Startups,Colleges, especially who have the potential but were reluctant due to lack of knowledge and proper information.
• To boost Startup Parikrama,Dr. A.P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University envisions to facilitate and nurture the quality of technical education and research in its own premises as well as all affiliating institutions.
• Kalam–Centre for Innovation and Incubation of Startup is established inAKTU to nurture the entrepreneurial energy of students and boost startup culture across all affiliated colleges of the University.
• AKTU starting Ignited Mind Fellowship to involve students in Governance and Leadership
STARTUP PARIKRAMA REACHOUT (2/6)• Parikrama will reach districts whereAKTU affiliated colleges are present
• Host an one day event in most prestigious college of district affiliated toAKTU
• Invite other colleges/Institutions of district to participate in event
• Lectures /Workshop will be taken by experts of K-CIIS,AKTU
• Parikrama will be executed in 5 phases to cover 600 colleges• Phase – 1 (Lucknow)
• Phase II – (NCR)
• Phase – III (Allahabad)
• Phase– IV (Gorakhpur)
• PhaseV (Varanasi)
• A total of 40 on ground events will be conducted each covering about 250 students from variety of colleges
WHAT ACTIVITY WILL BE DONE (3/6)1. Event will include lectures/ Seminars on :
a) Visions of Startup as seen by leaders of India
b) Improving soft skills
c) Understanding startup
d) Startup policies and support systems
e) Financial modelling
f) Business Process Development
g) Social change via startups
h) Economic and social structure of India and UP
2. Duration of lecture / seminar will be 3 hours
a) Live showcasing of engineering enterprise equipment like drones, 3 D printer, LASER cutter etc.3. We conduct 3 hour activity session to select students on same day
a) Quiz on startup policy and current tech affairs
b) Essay writing on topics covered in lectures
c) Elocution events
d) Innovationchallenges
DELEGATE SELECTION CRITERIA (4/6)1. Selection of participants will be done by the colleges involved in the area
2. 25% of students will be selected from host college rest 75% will be selected from vicinity colleges.
3. On average 250 students will be selected from each district
4. Post the event some of the participants (winners) will be given an opportunity to enroll in the startup startup star program

HACKATHONS

• 100 Participants encourages to submit their initial ideas – based on which select is done.Travel cost paid to the selected members.Local participants also invited (50%)
