OUR MISSIONThe mission of Kairos Prison Ministry is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.

WHO IS KAIROS?About Us

The people of Kairos are called by God to share the love of Christ with those impacted by incarceration. Kairos encourages believ-ers from a variety of Christian traditions to be volunteers in this Christ‐filled ministry. Kairos programs offer to prison residents, their families, and those who work with them the opportunity to receive God’s for-giveness through faith in Jesus Christ, and to grow in their faith and servant hood in Christian community.

KAIROS INSIDEKairos Prison Ministry is a front‐row seat to God’s miracles inside prisons. Kairos will show God’s love and forgiveness and start the development of a Christian com-munity.. The Christian servants/volunteers of Kairos Prison Ministry have been called by God to share the love and forgiveness of Christ to those incarcerated. During a 3½‐day Weekend program of talks, mediations, music, listening and loving, a Christian community will start to form.

KAIROS OUTSIDEKairos Outside provides a safe place for women whose lives have been impacted by incarcer-ation. Kairos Outside encourages its Guests through the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Kairos Outside encour-ages women to form small support groups for spiritual growth as they share their com-mon journey. The small groups may pro-vide the lifelong support that these women need.

TESTIMONIESGET INVOLVEDBe a Team Member

Being a team member can be a life chang-ing experience. It requires the commitment over a one year timeframe, including 8 - 3 hour team meetings, 1 – 7 hour Saturday team meeting, a Thursday to Sunday Kai-ros Weekend, a 5 hour instructional day in the prison, periodically going in the pris-on for a Saturday morning 3 hour reunion and a retreat 3 months after your weekend. Most volunteers in Kairos will have experi-enced a weekend like Kairos on the outside. These are Catholic, Presbyterian, Episco-pal Cursillo, Walk to Emmaus, Lutheran Via De Christo, Tres Dias, Great Banquet, or any other related movement. Although it is requested that you experience one of these weekends, those who have not will be required to be an observer on their first Kairos weekend. This process is so that you are not under pressure and can experience a 4th day weekend.

Seeing the love of Jesus reflected in the fac-es of the men at the closing ceremony keeps me wanting to do another Kairos weekend and continue to bring Christ’s love to the men who are incarcerated. Jesus can and does set them free.
