Consulting Services
We offer consulting services in Business Excellence with a focus on two practice
areas - Executive Coaching and Operational Excellence.
Increasing globalization & competitive
pressures are compelling organisations
to raise their performance levels.
Consequently Operational Excellence
(OE) is high on the priority list of many
companies. Yet, finding ways to actually
enable operational excellence remains a
challenge. At the same time, a dynamic
and complex business environment is
heightening the need for high
performing leaders in organisations.
Expectations from executives to meet
strategic business objectives and deliver
results within tight budgets and
timelines are making their jobs ever
more demanding. To address these twin
challenges, we are working with
organisations to adopt a combined
approach to leadership and operational
excellence using our ‘Star'
Excellence Framework .

Executive Coaching
Leadership capability is by far the most
important success factor to foster a
culture of excellence and continual
improvement. We use ‘Executive
Coaching’ as a method to assist leaders
cope with these demands, calibrate
strategy, leverage their inner potential
and develop the capability needed to
become better leaders. We work with
our clients in this transformational
journey which requires a clear vision,
mind set change, teamwork and
adaptive processes that encourage
learning and innovation.
Training programs are designed to apply
to a group of people and may or may
not relate directly to an individual’s
specific needs. In contrast, Coaching
focuses completely on the individual and
is tailored to a suit the requirements of
the manager. Coaching is a self
discovery process, using experiential
learning and a solution focused
systematic process, for leaders to re-
orient their thinking and achieve positive
measureable change.
Our coaching methodology is based on
the Ericksonian ‘Advanced Solution
Focussed Coaching’ framework which
has been successfully applied in several
countries around the globe. This model
lays a strong emphasis on achieving
desired outcomes and validating results
using evidence procedures. We conduct
our coaching sessions using the
‘Coaching Arrow Model’ in combination
with four quadrant methodologies,
white boarding, wheel exploration and
logical level expression techniques.
We make a conscious effort to evolve
coaching strategies to create sustainable
value. Our Coaches have inherently
strong interpersonal skills and combined
with the experience in managing large
teams in a wide range of industry
sectors and multicultural environments,
they bring a lot of experiential value to
coaching engagements.

Operational Excellence
Well known and successful international organizations have
discovered Operational Excellence using ‘Lean Six Sigma’ to be
an effective approach to enhance their competitive edge and save billions of dollars.
Essentially, Lean is all about enhancing
value creation by reducing or eliminating
non value added activities and waste. Or
‘doing more with less’ – less time,
inventory, space, effort and cost.
Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality and
reliability of processes and minimizing
variability using quality management
and statistical methods.
Lean Six Sigma, is thus a marriage of two distinct business management strategies
which allows managers to effectively address issues of speed, quality and cost.
Our experience has established that
Lean is best implemented as a
‘Growth’ strategy rather than a ‘cost
saving’ strategy. If customer focus,
creating ‘value’ and making it ‘flow’
to the customer are at the core of the
Lean implementation philosophy, it
facilitates business growth due to the
better value proposition and higher
customer satisfaction. Cost savings
and benefits are then natural outcomes
that are realized without much
additional effort.
We assist client teams to adopt a
holistic view in identifying process
areas for improvement and use
appropriate Lean Six Sigma tools and
techniques to achieve significant
improvements in business
performance. Operational Excellence is
a journey, not a destination and hence
www.kaalp.com
we work towards embedding a culture
of continual improvement in
organisations we work with.
The journey for Operational Excellence
begins with the top management team.
Leadership commitment and
sponsorship is essential and by far the
most important success factor. We
work with company leadership teams
to articulate the vision and strategy for
operational excellence and prepare a
communication plan for employees, to
highlight the importance of OE for the
organisation and its impact on
achieving business goals.
Our ‘Star' model with a participative
workshop driven approach is used to
deploy Operational Excellence in
organisations. In this approach, team
members play a key role and are
actively involved in assessing the
current situation, identifying areas for
improvement and designing process
changes.
Visual charts & templates are
extensively used to improve
effectiveness of the workshops. The
team members give periodic
presentations to sponsors and
management team, stating the findings
and progress made at each workshop,
to get a common understanding and
agreement on the actions planned.
This workshop approach has been very
effective because the direct
participation of team members ensures
better ownership of the project and a
higher degree of success. Since the
framework is simple, employees are
able to reuse it to establish a culture of
continual improvement. The activities
and timelines of the workshops are
