About JW Marriott Austin

Hotel developer White Lodging began construction on the JW Marriott in August 2012. The hotel is designed to host large conventions and meetings, with 112,000 square feet of event space, 42 meeting rooms and 1,012 guest rooms. The JW Marriott Austin is LEED Silver certified and has a two-star Austin Energy Green Building rating. The 34-story hotel, located at 110 E. Second Street is the largest hotel in Austin, the largest JW Marriott in the United States and the second-largest JW Marriott in the world. Visit JW Marriott Austin online, on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Hotel Design Inspired by the culture of the artisan scene, the music culture as well as the many geographic influences of nature, the designers focused on evoking a sense of Austin’s eccentricity and personality with the goal of creating a seamless experience from exterior to interior. The color palette is a strong reflection of the landscape of Austin and an urban understanding of the city’s natural resources. The large lobby bar serves as the hotel lobby with tall ceilings, a full wall of windows and a variety of communal and private seating areas. The lobby’s terrazzo floor poured in an organic pattern reflects Austin’s topography and is mirrored in the ceiling made of painted, carved-chipboard. Floor to ceiling stretches of metal-screens reminiscent of macramé wall hangings are strategically positioned to create intimate seating groups. Art installations include an oversized fireplace and behind the front desk, a recreation of the skin of the cactus comes to life through a process of digital imagery, layers of glass and back lighting.

Furniture pieces air on the contemporary side to reflect the city’s modernity but are complimented by a mix of styles to celebrate the eclectic nature and vibe of Austin. Contemporary block sofas sit next to sculptural chairs positioned under ultra-modern light fixtures - juxtaposed to handmade rugs and art pieces designed by local artisans. In the guestrooms, a serene color palette and overall clean lines are punctuated by architectural details to provide a respite from the high-energy city. Hotel features
