    SPECIFIC SERVICE INSTRUCTIONSDISASSEMBLE PROCEDURE Refer to EXPLODE VIEW in PARTS LIST (page 43 and 44) .

    BOTTOM BACK COVER Be sure to disconnect the power plug.

    1. Remove sixteen screws [No.40] from the bottom back cover [No.9]2. Be careful of the power plug to remove the bottom back cover.

    FRONT PANEL Be careful not to damage the front panel.

    1. Remove three screws from the pedestal [No.15] and take it down.2. Remove the screws on the speaker grill and take it down.

    SPEAKER1. Remove four screws used for the speakers fixing.2. Remove the speakers wanted and the connected wire from the back of the speaker.

    3. Take the speakers down.

    PWB1. Remove the screws f ixed PW B and the holder [No.11].2. Separate all of the connec ted wires from the f ixed lead clampers.

    3. Drag the main chassis PWB backwards slowly.4. Set it up when dragging the main chassis PWB outwards.

    5. Be sure that all of the ready connec ted wires can be checked when ON-OFF switch is on.

    In order to set the PWB up easily, if necessary, some concerned connected wires are allowed to disconnect temporarily, then revive their

    connec tion.

    The stability would be not good when the PWB is set up. Be careful not to let it down.

    Before the power is on, make sure that each connected wire are ready ,and prevent the PWB from the outside objects so as to avoid the

    short circuit .

    PRT (PROJECTION TUBE) Take care of the surface of lens1. Remove the back cover [No.1].

    Disassemble method for 43 top back coverDisassemble 13 screws [No.40] on the top back cover [No.1] and pull out the cover and take it down.

    Disassemble method for 50 top frame [No.7]Disassemble 16 screws [No.40] on the top back cover [No.1] and four screws fixed on the holder for the front frame, then take it down.

    Never take the top back cover [No.1] down." Please protect the front frame from pulling out when removing the screws of the back cover.)

    4. Removal of CPT board [F] and the earth of PRT.5. Reelingly pull three of anode wires out of FBT.

    6. Loosen the fastening screws on VM MAGNET to take down VM MAGNET.7. Loosen the fastening screw on DY to take DY down.

    8. Loosen the lead clampers that need separating, so that the anode wires are out of binding.9. Disassemble 4 screws of PRT [No.24] or [No.25], [No.26] needed to take out and lift up the metal board with PTV slowly, then pull out the

    PRT together with the anode wire.

    10.Remove 4 screws from lens [No.21] or [No.22], [No.23] connected with PRT, and take down the lens. Also the step can be carried out prior tothe removal of PRT.

    MIRROR1. Remove fifteen screws from the mirror support [No.3] or [No.4], [No.5] on the mirror.

    2. Take Down the mirror.

    In the process of removal, protect the mirror f rom crack ing.

    After f inishing maintenance, the parts disassembled should be returned to the original state.

    SERVICE ADJUSTMENTSADJUSTMENT PREPARATION1. You can make the necessary adjustments for this unit with either the Remote control unit or with the adjustment tools and parts as

    given below.

    2. Ad justment with the Remote control unit is made on the basis of the initial setting values, however, the new setting values whichset the screen to its optimum condition may differ from the initial settings.

    3. Make sure that AC power is turned on correc tly.4. Turn on the power for set and tes t equipment before use, and start the adjustment procedures after wait ing at least 30 minutes.

    5. Un less otherwise specified, prepare the most suitable reception or input signal for adjustment.6. Never touch any adjustment parts which are not spec if ied in the list for this adjus tment - variable resistors, t ransformers, condensers, etc.

    7. Presetting before adjustment. Unless otherwise specified in the adjustment instruct ions, preset the following functions with the remote control unit.

    1. ASSEMBLED P.W.B. ADJUSTMENT1.1 AFC Alignment

    Ad justment Preparation1. Apply relevant RF signal (a) CH05 (fp=85.25MHz). Apply

    heat run for more than 30 minutes to avoid inf luence of

    circuit temperature drift .2. The SOUND SYSTEM is selected to D/K standard.

    3. Receive the CH05 using frequency direc t of SETUP Menuto ensure AFC loop is OFF.

    4. Connect oscilloscope and voltmeter to pin 4 PTP connectorof SIGNAL P.W.B.

    5. Adjust L202 until fast rate of change is seen on theoscilloscope.

    6. Adjust L202 so that the voltmeter reads 2.5V0.2V.

    1.2 AGC AlignmentAd justment Preparation

    1. After received the signal, apply heat run for more than tenminutes to avoid the influence of circuit temperature drift.

    2. Connect a voltmeter of at least 100K ohm internalresistance to the AGC terminal (pin 1 PTP connec tor).

    3. Received the channel below.4. Adjust AGC potentiometer R245 until the following voltage

    is obtained.

    Ad justment Procedure1. Adjust the waveform at pin 21 of I503, amplitude must

    match at each horizontal cycle by BELL of V/C I2CADJUST MODE.

    1.5 SECAM White Balance AdjustmentAd justment Preparation

    1. SECAM BELL FILTER adjustment should be finished.2. Receive the SECAM Philips pattern signal or color bar

    signal.

    3. Connect the probe to C536 (R-Y). C537 (B-Y) at Signal SubP.W.B (Refer to f igure below).

    4. Set to "CSYS" DATA: 06, "TVSW" DATA: 05, "CTRA"DATA: 01, "15SW" DATA: 00 of V/C I2C ADJUST MODE.

    Ad justment Procedure

    1. Adjustment signal level as shown below by "RADJ" "BAD J"of V/C I2 C ADJUST MODE.

    4. Select the COMB FILTER mode by press ing [%] / [$]button.

    Ad justment Procedure1. Set the COMB FILTER : ON by pressing ['] button, and

    check the COMB FILTER operation as shown in the figurebelow.

    2. FINAL ASSEMBLY ADJUSTMENT2.1 Lens Focus Adjustment

    Ad justment Preparation1. The orientation of PTV set is arbitrary west, east, north and

    south.

    2. Centering DY inclination should have been adjusted.3. Electrical focus adjustment should have been completed.

    4. Drive VR locat ion adjustment should have been completed(Red: 12 O'clock).

    5. Receive the cross-hatch pattern signal.6. Refer to setup below.

    (CONT RAST : 10 times PUSH button from full scale tolower side.(BRIGHTNESS : minimum

    Ad justment Procedure1. Loosen the wing nuts on the lens cylinder so that the lens

    cylinder can be turned. (Be careful not to loosen too much).After completing steps (4), (5) and (6) below. Tightening the

    wing nuts for each lens with a torque of 1.18Nm (12Kgfcm)~ 1.67Nm (17Kgfcm). (Be careful the lens cylinder not

    turning after having tighten wing nuts. But if it is tighten toomuch, lens is too t ilt or broken a screw.)

    2. Apply covers to each colors of R, G and B lenses andprojec t a single color on the screen and adjust in sequence.(The adjustment order of R, G and B is only an example.)

    3. If the lens adjustment knob is turned clockwise viewed fromthe front, the color aberration change as follows .

    4. In case of G lensSet to the point where the chromatic aberration switches from

    blue to red. If the chromatic aberrat ion appearing all over thescreen in not the same, observe the vertical bright line andadjust lens focus as spec if ied in table below. When the red

    chromatic aberration appearing at both sides of the bright line

    is not equal, observe the side with larger chromatic aberrationwhen adjusting.

    Change the signal to the circle pattern and fine adjust.

    Observe the corner part of the screen, especially observenumber is the small circle when adjusting. If the focus

    performance at the sc reen exceeds the lower limit, it isacceptable.

    NOTE :

    1. Since the G light is very important for picture quality andperformance, pay special attention in its adjustment.

    2. Be careful not to touch the lens with your f ingers whenadjusting.

    5. In case of R lensSet the position where the chromatic aberration change from

    orange to scarlet. As shown below, observe the vert ical brightline and adjust lens focus where the scarlet or orangechromatic aberration slightly appears inside and scarlet or

    orange outside (reference value :1~3mm) at the point specified

    in table below .Change the signal and f ine -adjust in the same way as the G

    lens.

    purple to green. As shown below, observe the vert ical brightline and adjust lens focus where the purple or green chromatic

    aberration slightly appears inside and purple or green outside(reference value: 1~3mm) at the points specif ied in table below.

    Change the signal and f ine -adjust in the same way as the Glens.
