Justin had a revolutionary view and methodology in fulfilling his role as the SME for Microsoft Platforms. With an insatiable need to grow his repository of skill, he proved to be an incredible asset to the organization, particularly in supporting specialist engineers in technologies not yet released to the market place. His grasp of concepts and understanding of underlying architecture made him the chosen point of contact when faced with any difficulty. His people skills matched him technical prowess, and in many instances, he presented to key technological decision makers. I would not hesitate in recommending Justin to any prospective employer. I would work with Justin without hesitation at any given opportunity.

On a Personal FrontWho am I when I am not at work?

Who will be joining your business and your team? Who is the person called Justin Luyt when he is not working? Well, a little bit about me:

I am originally from South Africa and came to the US in 1997, just before the Y2K boom. It was a good time to come over and I first lived in Atlanta, followed by Philadelphia before moving to DFW. My travels showed me quite a bit of the US, but even though Texas is not the greenest state around, I feel DFW is a booming place to be in.

Eight years ago, I met my wife, Natalia and we have been married now for seven years and live in North Richland Hills. Our house is run by two little rug rats, Anthony (almost 7) and Ethan (almost 3). I refer to our family as a small United Nations since my wife is from the Ukraine and the boys are true Americans with me being from South Africa. Most of my personal time goes to my family and if Anthony is not into sports, I entice his interests with electronics. This summer we started to build an FM radio together and I even had him solder at his age.

I have always been an entrepreneur and part-time been involved in different business ventures. As of late, in 2013 I started working with real estate investors seeking to invest in distressed properties. I marketed my services and connected distressed sellers with investors. This worked well, but I found I was leaving lots of revenue on the table on transactions that were retail transactions. Thus in 2014 I received my Texas Real Estate Salesperson License and it now gives me the ability to do retail transactions too. Running a small business has been hard, but also fun, as it is a personal tool to see what we are made of. Needless to say, it takes part of my time on weekends, but I do enjoy it, especially the marketing component.

Ethan my 3-year old we thought has a great longing to speak to his grandpa. We Skype my parents often and every time he sits on my lap, he says “Oupa” (grandpa). Immediately I think he wants to speak to grandpa and will Skype my parents if possible. Often we Skype on my Surface and just the other day I figured out he calls the “Windows Logo”, “Oupa”. I will not tell my parents this, but still every time he sits on my lap and see that logo he says “Oupa” and I want to jump and Skype my dad. Just something cute to share.

I hope this gives you an idea of something personal, not work-related, of who I am. My resume, referral letters, recommendations and reviews will tell you what you need to know about my Microsoft live.
