Just something to think :
The United States is said to be the most powerful nation in the
world. It has the most
powerful military, abundance of everything, and I am convinced
all of this has beenbecause Gods hand has been upon this nation
blessing and protecting it. As we all know,
we were founded under Judeo Christian principles. Our old laws
are based on theteachings of the Ten Commandments, and up to
several years ago the Bible was taught in
all schools. Our motto has been One Nation under God. God
definitely knows how tobless those who seek Him.
Another thing that has made the United States a blessed nation
is our relationship with
Israel. God made a promise to Abraham and said He would bless
those who bless Israel.God always fulfills His promises.
In the recent months we have seen disaster after disaster, our
economy in the verge of
collapse, and our military is overstretched to the maximum, I
ask myself where is Godshand and why is our nation collapsing as it
is? I wonder if it might be due to the fact that
we have turned away from Him, ceased to be a Christian nation
and turned to other Godsand other religions? Could it also be that
we have not continued to support Israel against
its enemies? Could it be that we are trying to appease people as
they continue in theirsins, instead of helping them to overcome? I
believe the reason is all of the above.
I also wonder where is the Christian church in all of this? What
are we doing to influenceour government? The church is called to be
the salt of the world, the light of the world, a
watchman in the wall, to tell the people about the love of God
and to return to Him. Arewe doing it?
I am hearing about a prophet who is telling everybody that
judgment day is going to be
the 21st of May 2011. I would call Him a false prophet because
according to the Bible noone but God knows the time or the hour of
His coming. As a result of all of these false
prophesies, people will increase their mockery toward
Christians, and continue todiminish our credibility. Matthew
24:3-13 (Amplified Bible) explains clearly what is
happening in the world, and indeed these are signs of the latter
times, we can read what itsays:
3 While He was seated on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came
to Him privately and
said, Tell us, when will this take place, and what will be the
sign of Your coming and ofthe end (the completion, the
consummation) of the age? 4 Jesus answered them, Be
careful that no one misleads you [deceiving you and leading you
into error].5 For many
will come in (on the strength of) My name [appropriating the
name which belongs toMe], saying, I am the Christ (the Messiah),
and they will lead many astray. 6 And youwill hear of wars and
rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for
this
must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise
against nation, and kingdomagainst kingdom, and there will be
famines and earthquakes in place after place; 8 All
this is but the beginning [the early pains] of the birth pangs
[of the intolerable anguish].9 Then they will hand you over to
suffer affliction and tribulation and put you to death,
and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10 And
then many will be

offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert [Him
Whom they ought totrust and obey] and will stumble and fall away
and betray one another and pursue one
another with hatred.11 And many false prophets will rise up and
deceive and lead manyinto error. 12 And the love of the great body
of people will grow cold because of the
multiplied lawlessness and iniquity, 13 But he who endures to
the end will be saved.
Is it Gods judgment upon the Land? No, it is what we just
heard,All this is but the
beginning [the early pains] of the birth pangs [of the
intolerable anguish]. Gods handof protection has retrieved from
this nation, not because He has stopped loving us, He is
allowing this to happen because He respects the peoples desire
to have God vanishedfrom their lives, in other words, He has stood
aside for a while.
Church, God is giving us another chance before bringing His real
judgment to the whole
world. If we want the grace of God again in our nation, let us
do as it reads in 2Chronicles 7:14,
(4) If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble
themselves, pray, seek, crave,and require of necessity My face and
turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear fromheaven, forgive
their sin, and heal their land.
In other words, if we want for God to restore this nations
prosperity and to heal it:
1. We need to humble ourselves.2. We need to recognize Gods
sovereignty.3. We need to seek Him, pray earnestly and seek His
face.4. We need to turn from our wicked ways, and return again to
our first love.If we do that, we will then see that God will hear
from heaven, forgive their (our) sin,
and healthis country, our country, a nation under God. God bless
you.
