The Tigers have thoroughly enjoyed our Treasure, Sand and Water topic. We have adored becoming pirates, going on adventures looking for treasure with our maps. We have tested our treas-ure to see if it floats or sinks and de-scribed its properties. We performed a brilliant assembly. We loved cele-brating our Graduation and enjoyed a bubble and fruit party with our fami-lies. The Tigers tested their fitness and team work skills, gathering points at our Sports Day. We had the most amazing time at our all day Forest School in Battersea Park. We have been busy finding out about becom-ing a Year One. Phew! We are now ready for a holiday! Try the Summer Reading Challenge at your library! Thank you to all the families for your great support throughout the year. Well done Terrific Tigers!

The Leopards have had an amazing, action-packed end to the year, with their fantastic assembly and graduation assembly. We have en-joyed learning all about pirates and sea creatures and have shared all our knowledge across the class. We have spent time talking about our new classroom and all the ques-tions we have about Year One. As enthusiastic chefs, we loved baking scones for Bastille day while singing our party songs. We’ve all worked so hard that we are ready for a well-deserved rest! Well done Leopards. I wish you all a wonderful summer holiday and the best of luck in your new class next year!

The Hedgehogs have had a fantastic Summer 2. We have been learning all about multiplication and division ready to impress Mrs Savizon in September. Our Year 1 Maths Mastery journey has come to an end with a really fun unit about capacity and volume; we managed to cover our classroom in rice for a measuring experiment! In Literacy we have been busy writing letters to the current Owls, asking lots of questions about what we can expect in Year 2, and to the Tigers, offering advice on moving up into Year 1. The Hedge-hogs loved cheering each other on for Sports Day and wearing our col-ours; we already can't wait for Sports Day next year! We still have lots of exciting things to get done this term. I am so proud of you all, goodluck next year! Have a happy Summer every-one :-)

What a term the Badgers have had! The children are getting really confident in their swimming, with some of them even jumping into the deep end! In Maths, we have begun learning about simple multiplication (as repeated addition) and division (sharing). We have also been measuring capacity and volume, and we even set a challenge for all of the teachers in school to com-pete in. Well done to the winner, Miss Carter! In Literacy, we have been writing lots of letters, asking the Foxes children what it’s like in Year 2, and giving advice to the Leopards about what to expect next year. In French we have worked hard on speaking in full sentences and lots of children are starting to take an interest in reading and writing in French. The children can’t wait to start French Phonics in Year 2. We are looking for-ward to ending the term with a very special ‘Olden Time’ (Golden Time for parents) and of course our class party. Bonnes vacances tout le monde!

Wow we have already come to the end of the school year! Owls children can definitely give themselves a good pat on the back for all their efforts and achievements this year, well done Owls! This term the children have completed holiday des-tination fact files and have compared the seaside today to the seaside of the past. In Numeracy they have investi-gated the relationships between mul-tiplication and division. We all had a blast at the schools’ Sports Day, well done to all the teams! This term we have begun Year Three transition work to prepare the children for their new year group and all the children have adapted well. Please continue to read with your child every day at home. Thanks to all the parents of Owls class for supporting me with your children’s learning this year. Have a great Summer!

What a fantastic half-term the Foxes have had! We have been so busy using our French, Geography and Art skills with our IPC topic ‘Quelle Chance, c’est les Vacances!’. In fact, we have been on a real whirlwind tour of the world... In Literacy, we went to Paris and wrote postcards about all the fabulous landmarks we saw. We also created our own passports and wrote real life post-cards in French to our friends at our twinned school just outside of Paris. Then we jetted off to the other side of the world and looked at Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, whilst also exploring abo-riginal art in IPC. Our geography skills were certainly tested in this last half-term and we were lucky enough to get a closer look at these places when we visited both of them on our Google Expe-dition! In Maths, we are now confident with our place value so we have moved onto the formal column method for addition and subtraction in preparation for the jump to Key Stage 2. Bravo les Renards et bonnes vacances!

The Penguins have worked so hard this term and have rounded off a wonderful academic year. The children have greatly enjoyed learning about the rainforest in our bilingual IPC topic and I was really impressed by the quality of the home learning projects that were submitted; very well done! We linked our Literacy work to our IPC topic, writing persuasive letters about saving the rainforest and carrying out a range of emotive drama activities. The children demonstrated great ma-turity during these tasks. Our Nu-meracy work on capacity has been exciting and the children are becoming more confident in using their known number facts to identify unmarked intervals. Congratulations on a fantas-tic first year in Key Stage 2, Penguins. I’m extremely proud of you and I will miss you all. Have a wonderful sum-mer.

We have had a very busy and enjoyable term. We have gained a greater understanding of problem-solving in maths, we understand how to measure mass, volume and length confidently. We have also become familiar with the 4 and 8 times tables. In literacy, we have created fantastic non-fiction mats about various rainfor-est animals, written descriptive para-graphs about the rainforest and written imaginative stories based in a rainfor-est. Our IPC topic ‘Saving the World’ has encouraged us all to learn about the people of the rainforest and the medicines discovered there. It has also helped us to understand the concept of deforestation and forest sustainability. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mosaic workshop where we learnt a new skill and watched all our ideas come to life. We all thoroughly enjoyed Sports Day too. Well done for all your hard work this year. Have a wonderful summer

Wow! It’s hard to believe that the Summer Term is over already! I am so proud of the Seals class for everything they have accomplished. In the Summer 2 half-term alone, the Seals class have worked hard to design and create The Ocean Blue restaurant for our topic, “What’s on the Menu”, and taken a keen interest on the global issues of genetic modification and deforestation. In Maths we have learned how to identify and plot coor-dinates, solve problems involving negative numbers and learned all about the various properties of 2D shapes. In Literacy, the class has used their impressive imagination and crea-tivity to complete some very sus-penseful and gripping short stories. I wish everyone a well earned summer break and I hope that all the students enjoy next year! Well done Seals!

This half term Sharks have worked really hard to design and open a restaurant as part of their IPC topic ‘What’s on the Menu?’ We’ve learnt how to plot and read coordinates in maths and have a better understand-ing of 2D shapes, both regular and ir-regular. All year we have tried lots of reading activities as part of our new approach to reading and the Sharks children helped to make a short video about these which Miss Sotudeh shared with other teachers in Wandsworth. All Year 4 children have done a fantastic job in their violin lessons this year and put on a wonderful end of year concert. The performance of ’Written in the Stars’ was my favourite song with a super solo played by Makeda. Thank you, Sharks, for being so hardworking, you have made great progress this year and I know you are ready to move into your new classes and continue learning. Enjoy your summer holidays!

Turtles Class have had an amazing time going on virtual holidays across the world this term, visiting: Windhoek, Kingston, Co-lombo and Copenhagen! In our learning they have: created their own travel app in ICT; written newspaper reports and created posters in Literacy; debated and written discussions about the pros and cons of tourism in International Studies. In History and Geography, we have looked into Wandsworth's past by ‘discovering’ a lost map in Nursery’s store cupboard. We then had a visit from a historian from Wandsworth Museum to show us how old maps can give us clues to our past! In Maths, we have learnt about different units of measure-ment, fractions of amounts and percent-ages to discover hidden recipes for scones and tea as well as finding the best deal to buy new fans—essential problem solving in the hot weather! Well done Turtles, have a great summer.

Dolphins have had a fantastic term, rehearsing for their play 'Aladdin Trouble' and getting ready for the new challenges of secondary school! I have been so impressed with their commit-ment to learning lines, singing songs beautifully and set-making. Special thanks to Zayn for all his hard work with the props. We enjoyed a fun trip to the Natu-ral History museum to learn all about extinct and endangered creatures. We’ve learnt about why some animals are facing extinction and how scientists class ani-mals into different groups. We also learnt about microbes, how diseases are caused/passed on and how we can stop disease from spreading. Dolphins also had a fan-tastic trip to Hogan Lovells where we got to be lawyers for the day. We were on the prosecution or defence side of three different cases and got to present our arguments to real lawyers. I was very impressed with the team work shown. Dolphins, you will be missed next year, I hope you all have a great summer!
