Using andactivating filter

These short instructions do not replace the 'IMPRESSA S9 One TouchManual'. Make sure you read and observe the safety informationand warnings first in order to avoid hazards.

When the IMPRESSA is switched on, a prompt for the rinse operation

automaticaiiy appears which is initiated by pressing the maintenance button.

Precondition; Your IMPRESSA is switched on at the power switchand the on/off button 6 is illuminated (standby).

PRESS RINSE, the maintenance button A lights up.▶ Place a receptacle under the coffee spout.

The machine rinses itself, stopping automaticaiiy.COFFEE REFiD Y appears on the display. Your IMPRESSAis ready to use.

Your IMPRESSA no longer has to be descaled if you are using CLARISfilter cartridges.

i Perform the 'Insert filter' operation without interruptions. Thiswill ensure that your IMPRESSA always produces its best.

Precondition: coffee rerd y is displayed.▶ Open the cover of the Rotary Switch.

tension from the Welcome Pack.»• Fit the extension on top of the filter cartridge.▶ Remove the water tank and empty It.

Lift the cartridge holder and Insert the filter cartridge Intothe water tank, applying slight pressure.

" Close the cartridge holder. It will click Into place audibly.Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water and reinsert.

▶ Place a receptacle (at least 500 ml) under the frother.

i If you are using the Professional Cappuccino Frother, set theselection lever of the frother to the steam position

A ▶ Press the maintenance button.

FILTER RINSI NO, water flows out of the frother

i You can Interrupt rinsing of the filter at any time by pressingany button.

i The water may be slightly discoloured. This Is not harmful tohealth and does not affect the taste.

Filter rinsing stops automatically after approx. 500 ml.COFFEE RERFjY appears on the display. The filter Is nowactivated.

Changing the filter f After so litres of water have flowed through, the filter willcease to work. Your IMPRESSA will automatically prompt youto replace the filter,

i After two months, the filter will cease to work. Monitor theelapsed time by adjusting the date plate on the cartridgeholder.

i If the CLARIS filter cartridge Is not activated, you will not beprompted to change the filter.

To change the CLARIS filter cartridge when prompted to do so byyour IMPRESSA, proceed as follows:

Cleaning the machine After 220 coffee preparations or 80 switch-on rinses, the IMPRESSAwill prompt you to clean it.

CAUTION wrong cieaning agent is used, the machine couid be damagedand/or traces of detergent could be left behind in the water.

Use only original JURA care products.

i The cleaning programme oniy iasts about 20 minutes,i Do not interrupt the cieaning programme. The quaiity of

cieaning wiii be impaired if you do so.i JURA cieaning tabiets are available from stockists.

CAUTION descaling operation is interrupted, there may be damage tothe machine.

«▶ Allow the descaling program to run to the end.

CAUTION descaling agent comes into contact with sensitive surfaces,damage cannot be ruied out.▶ Ciean up any spiashes immediately.

i The descaling programme lasts approx. 45 minutes,i JURA descaling tablets are available from stockists,i if you use a CLARIS filter cartridge and this is activated, you

will not be prompted to change the filter.

prompt 'Decalcify machine' remains on the display.

A ▶ Press the maintenance button.

Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container and putthem back into the machine.

▶ Remove the water tank and empty it.

»■ Completely dissolve the contents of one blister (3 JURA des

caling tablets) in a container that holds 600 ml of water. Thismay take several minutes.

▶ Pour the solution into the empty water tank and insert it in

the machine.

SOLVENT IN TFiNK / F=RESS RINSE, the maintenance button Alights up.

▶ Remove the frother from the Connector System®.▶ Place a receptacle under the hot water spout and another

under the Connector System®.A •• Press the maintenance button.

DEOFiLOS, water flows out of the Connector System® andthe hot water spout. The maintenance button A flashesduring the descaling operation.

i You can follow the current status of descaling on the progressbar.

The process is interrupted, empty trry.»■ Empty the receptacles below the hot water spout and the

Connector System®." Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container and put

them back Into the machine.

RINSE NRTER TFiNK/F~ILL NFiTER TFiNK▶ Remove the water tank and rinse it thoroughly.

FIN the water tank with fresh, cold water and reinsert.PRESS RINSE, the maintenance button Alights up.

•• Refit the frother.

▶ Place a receptacle under the coffee and hot water spout andanother under the frother.

A Press the maintenance button.

DEOFiLOS, water flows out of the Connector System® andthe frother.

The process Is Interrupted, hefiting up.NFiOHiNE RINSING, water flows out of the coffee

spout. The operation stops automatically, empty trfiy.

Rinsing thecappuccino frother

Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container and putthem back into the machine.

The descaiing operation is now complete. Your IMPRESSAheats up and is once again ready to use.

i If the descaiing operation stops unexpectedly, rinse the watertank thoroughly.

i This chapter applies to the Professional and Easy CappuccinoFro thers .

Each time milk has been prepared the IMPRESSA displays a promptfor Cappuccino rinsing.

CAUTION

To ensure that the respective frother works perfectly, you shouldclean it daily when you have been preparing milk.

If the wrong cleaning agent is used, the machine could be damagedand/or traces of detergent could be left behind in the water.

Use only original JURA care products.

i The IMPRESSA will not prompt you to clean the frother.

Disassemblingand rinsing theProfessionalCappuccino Frother

•• Carefully remove the frother from the Connector System®

by twisting siightiy.•> Dismantle the frother completely.

Rinse all the frother parts thoroughly under running water.▶ Reassemble the frother.

i Ensure that the individual parts are correctly and firmlyattached to one another to ensure optimum function of thefrother.
