Trinity In ActionJune & July 2016
- Pastor Chris Singer
A lot of Christians say that Gods Word is important. Yet it seems that there is no standard of Growing in Gods Word for Americans as we are becoming increasingly more biblically illiterate. Of course there is a major difference though in the lives of believers who do and those who dont. I often ask the confirmation kids, What kind of lawyer they would be if they never studied the law? The answer: A starving one. So it is with Gods Word. To never read and inwardly digest the Word of God brings spiritual starvation.
2 Peter 2:1-3 encourages us to remain focused on this standard of feeding on Gods Word. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will GROW into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lords kindness.
Our standard for GROW is to be in a GROW GROUP. Grow groups are such a blessing as it helps us to learn more about God in the love, safety, and encouragement of other believers.
This standard has proven to work in helping keep people connected to active membership. Consider that 88% of worship attenders who joined a Grow Group remained connected and became more deeply active in church after five years. But of those worship attenders who didnt join a Grow Group, only 13% remained connected and more deeply active.
This standard is something that each of us can own and practice.
The benefits to such standards are not just eternally reaching, they also provide daily and weekly love and support, strength and encouragement.
Membership here at Trinity Klein means something to us. Its not just an intellectual assent to formulaic principles. It is something that is to be believed and practiced.
In September we will look at our standard for Serve.
We are blessed to be a blessing to others. Trinity Klein Lutheran School has impacted families in this community for generations, and now with plans to expand our facilities becoming realized, we will continue to serve even more families - - for generations to come. There were 77 graduates from our eighth grade this year. To all of them we wish Godspeed! While more than half will continue their education at Concordia Lutheran High School, the others will hopefully represent us well at whatever school they attend.
Touring and enrolling new families will continue through the summer. The school office is open all summer long from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We are available other times as well by appointment. Call ahead if you need to see a particular person as vacations are sprinkled throughout June and July: 281-376-5810.
When school starts up again, it is likely that there will be some alterations to school drop-off and pick-up procedures due to construction getting started. Please read any emails you receive from the school very carefully so that you will not be caught unprepared.
A few reminders: Report cards and reports on standardized testing will be mailed this year. There are MANY summer activities available (both on and off our campus). Please check the website www.trinityklein.org and the table next to the main entry of the lower grade hallway (across from Mr. Brennans office). Meet the Teachers will be August 15th and school will start August 17th.

50 + Trip The trip to see the painted churches in the Schulenburg area has been rescheduled to June 16. The county bus will leave the Family Life Center parking lot at 8:00 am. The cost for the guided tour is $10.00 per person. Lunch will be at the Oakridge Smokehouse where they offer a buffet lunch for $10.95 (includes drink and tax). Call the Church Office to sign up for the trip.
From the outside, these buildings look like many American country churches built around the turn of the last century arched Gothic Revival windows, facades clad in white frame siding or in stone, lone steeples rising up into the Texas sky.
Inside you will encounter not a simple wooden interior but an unexpected profusion of color. Nearly every surface is covered with bright painting: exuberant murals radiate with elaborate foliage as it trails the walls, columns and baseboards. This is what you will see and you when you visit the painted churches.
There will be no trip in July.
Hamburger DayThursday, June 2,10:30 a.m. 1:00 p.m.Games and Burger Meal for$6 per person. Bring a friend orinvite a neighbor!Following lunch, Louise Hayes, M.Ed., Ph.D. will speak. She is a retired special education teacher who will share what she has learned about the brain. She will talk how the brain develops, how it works, why it sometimes doesnt work, and what we can do for ourselves to make it work better.
