SUMMER IS HERE With the arrival of warmer weather it might be tempting to attend Mass dressed in clothing more appropriate for a picnic or sporting event. Keep in mind that modest church attire is a sign of respect for God and fellow worshippers. Please dress appropriately whenever attending Mass.

When you are planning your estate, please consider putting St. Philip or St. Jude in your will. Leaving a donation to your

parish is a wonderful way to be remembered while supporting the ongoing needs of the parish. Also, Memorial Donation forms are available on the parish website, and can be downloaded and printed.

MASS INTENTION ENVELOPES To make it easier to order a Mass for your beloved dead or for any other occasion like an Anniversary, Birthday, etc., you may pick up the new Mass Intention envelope in the

vestibule at St. Philip's or next to the bulletins on the table at St. Jude’s. You can fill it out and place it in the collection basket. Weekend and Holy Day Masses are $20 and weekday Masses are $15.

HOLY FAMILY OVERNIGHT MINI-CAMP July 31– Aug 2, Holy Family Mother House, Baltic, CT. This 12th annual summer camp run by the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady Mother of the Church is open to girls 11-15 yrs. The theme is Christ Our Light. Activities include: Sat and Sun Mass, spiritual talks and prayer as well as crafts, games, swimming and various physical activities. $50 registration fee and $100 camping fee. ST JUDE GARDEN-Weeding & Watering Help Needed

We need volunteers to help weed and water through the summer. It takes no more than 20 minutes of

your time to help us ensure we have a strong and productive crop to deliver to those in need in Willington. Our new compost bin and watering system were Nye Deskus' Eagle Scout project, making it easier to help care for the garden that gives to so many. There is a signup sheet at the back of the church. DIOCESAN PRO-LIFE MASS at the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich on Sat, July 4th ~ 8:30 a.m. Please join us and our celebrant Rev. Ray Introvigne at Mass as we pray to end abortion and for the healing for those who have had an abortion. Following the Mass, the Rosary will be prayed both at the Cathedral and Planned Parenthood. A brunch in the Cathedral Hall will follow the Rosary.

THE CHILDREN'S ROSARY You may remember last fall there was a small group at St. Philip, led by Blythe Kaufman, filming the Children's Rosary praying the Luminous Mysteries. They finished filming on Saturday. The Luminous Mysteries will be aired on EWTN on Thursday, Sept. 3rd at 4:30 p.m.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: During Fortnight for Freedom, it is important that we consider the reasons why the federal healthcare mandate violates religious freedom and contact our elected officials. The mandate: 1) forces religious insurers to write policies that violate their beliefs; 2) forces religious employers and schools to subsidize and facilitate coverage that violates their beliefs; and 3) forces conscientiously objecting employees and students to purchase coverage that violates their beliefs.
