PRELUDE “Blessed Assurance ” arr. by M. Sherrill Kelsey Paul Schweitzer

WELCOME

*CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS

All may make the sign of the cross, the sign marked at baptism, as the presiding minister begins.

Blessed be the holy Trinity, one God, the God of manna, the God of miracles, the God of mercy. Amen.

Drawn to Christ and seeking God’s abundance, let us confess our sin. Silence is kept for reflection.

God, our provider, Help us. It is hard to believe there is enough to share. We question your ways when they differ from the ways of the world in which we live. We turn to our own understanding rather than trusting in you. We take offense at your teachings and your ways. Turn us again to you. Where else can we turn? Share with us the words of eternal life and feed us for life in the world. Amen.

Beloved people of God: in Jesus, the manna from heaven, you are fed and nourished. By Jesus, the worker of miracles, there is always more than enough. Through Jesus, the bread of life, you are shown God’s mercy: you are forgiven and loved into abundant life. Amen.

*HYMN “Shout to the Lord” My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like You. All of my days I want to praise the wonders of Your mighty love. My Comfort, my Shelter, Tower of refuge and strength; let ev'ry breath, all that I am never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth; let us sing power and majesty, praise to the King. Mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of Your name. I sing for joy at the work of Your hands; forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand. Nothing compares to the promise I have in You. 4 *HYMN OF PRAISE “Glory to God” Glory to God in the highest, and peace to God’s people on earth. Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory. Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us; you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Glory to God in the highest, and peace to God’s people on earth.

CHILDREN’S MESSAGE

INSTRUMENTAL MEDITATION “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” Tune: "Olivet" by Lowell Mason

SERMON

*HYMN “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; there is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; as Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.

REFRAIN: Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed Thy hand hath provided; great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! REFRAIN.

Page 5: June 27, 2021 Fifth Sunday after Pentecost 9:30 AM Worship

5 *APOSTLES’ CREED I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

*PRAYERS OF THE CHURCH

*SHARING OF THE PEACE Please wave to maintain safe non-contact and social distancing. The peace of the Lord be with you all! And also with you.

*OFFERING PRAYER Jesus, Bread of life, you have set this table with your very self, and called us to the feast of plenty. Gather what has been sown among us, and strengthen us in this meal. Make us to be what we receive here, your body for the life of the world. Amen.

THANKSGIVING FOR THE WORD Let us pray. …..For your Word of life, O God, We give you thanks and praise. ….through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory forever, Amen

*LORD’S PRAYER Lord, remember us in your kingdom and teach us to pray. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,

thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,

forever and ever. Amen.

Welcome and Thank you: To Paul Schweitzer for being our supply organist today and helping lead our worship service with his music. We are very happy to have you here with us .

Help Wanted: As you all know, we have been streaming our worship services since early on in this pandemic. Appreciation, thanks, and praise are for Michael Mancini. We need extra sets of helping hands to continue live streaming recording during the summer. Please reach out to Mike Mancini or Tony Damiani for availability and training.

Mark your calendars: VBS is back for 2021! This year ’s theme will be “Knights of North Castle” We will be ready to armor up with justice, peace, faith and salvation! July 12th-16th from 9am till 11:30 am (registration star ts at 8:45 AM). We will need all the helping hands we can get! If you are able and willing to volunteer please reach out to Glenda Ortiz in the church office.

We also will be in need of snack donations. Juice boxes, individually bagged chips, cookies, or other individual wrapped snack items would work well. Feel free to drop them off at the church office or in the Narthex in the church building.

Sight & Sound Show Tickets: Jerusalem obtained 15 tickets for the Sight and Sound performance of ‘Queen Esther’ on July 14, 2020. The pandemic forced cancellation of the show. Our reservation was moved to July 13, 2021. Some of the 15 tickets are now available due to circumstances relating to the change in the date. Please contact Jack Bowman or Babs deFrenes if you are interested in attending the show.

Altar Flowers: We are happy to share we will be resuming having Altar flowers available during our worship service. If you would like to sponsor altar or chancel flowers, please feel free to request them either one of three options: Regular sign-up sheet on the Bulletin Board in the Narthex, Sign-up Genius shared through email, or contacting the church office to be added to the sponsor list schedule.
