Fear Not! It seems that our readings for this weekend could not be more appropriate as we open our church for public Masses. It has not been since early March that we have had a public Mass, and this weekend we come back home. Our Liturgies are going to be different, and we are all going to look different wearing our masks while having to reserve a space on Flocknote. We also will need to follow all social distance guidelines, and, surely, while receiving our Lord on our way out to become walking Tabernacles. What a jour-
ney this has been. Let us embrace our fear and give it to the Lord. Let us embrace our own journeys as we leave our homes, and let us be prepared from that Thursday 9:00 am email on Flocknote inviting us to be ready and trust in the Lord. I know there are many things to still work out, but we are on the journey together. Let us not despair but trust in the Lord. May fear not stop us from trusting, welcoming, embracing and surely relying on our Faith. WELCOME HOME!!!!!!! Not only have you been missed, but you have been also in our prayers in the rectory. Little by little we will come to terms with our new normal. And, surely, let us socially distance embrace our journey.

¡No temáis! Parece que nuestras lecturas para este fin de semana no podrían ser más apropiadas al abrir nuestra iglesia para misas públicas. No ha sido desde principios de marzo que hemos tenido una misa pública, y este fin de semana volvemos a casa. Nues-tras liturgias serán diferentes, y todos nos veremos diferentes usando nuestras máscaras mientras tenemos que reservar un espacio en Flocknote. También tendremos que seguir todas las pautas de distancia social y, seguramente, mientras recibimos a nuestro Señor en nuestro camino para convertirnos en Tabernáculos andantes. Qué viaje ha sido este. Abracemos nuestro miedo y dárselo al Señor. Abracemos nuestros propios viajes cuando salgamos de nuestros hogares, y preparémonos a partir de ese correo elec-trónico del jueves 9:00 am en Flocknote invitándonos a estar listos y confiar en el Señor. Sé que todavía hay muchas cosas por resolver, pero estamos juntos en el viaje. No nos desesperemos, sino confiemos en el Señor. Que el miedo no nos impida confiar, aco-ger, abrazar y confiar en nuestra fe. ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡BIENVENIDO A CASA!!!!!!! No solo te han ex-trañado, sino que también has estado en nuestras oraciones en la rectoría. Poco a poco llegaremos a un acuerdo con nuestra nueva normalidad. Y, sin duda, abracemos social-mente nuestro viaje a distancia.

Response to Health Advisories Our Holy Family Service Center Ministry remains open for service and donations, and volunteers are wearing masks and gloves and observing social distancing. Clients are required to wear masks, and
only three clients are allowed in the service center at one time. Showers and breakfast for the homeless are continuing on Thursday morning, and the breakfast is packed as a take-away meal.
Donation Priorities Our most needed donations right now are men’s work pants and jeans, all sizes, and groceries.
If it is not feasible to shop for groceries, monetary donations will help us buy food. Canned meat, tab top cans of food that can be meals, and peanut butter are especially helpful. Our next level of priority for donations right now includes the following: men’s underwear, white socks, sturdy walking shoes in good condition (especially sneakers), shampoo, soap,
toothpaste and toothbrushes. We often need more of these items than we have.
Our Dedicated Volunteers Normally the Holy Family Service Center has between 70 and 80 active volunteers, but during the
shelter at home period, most of them have understandably stayed at home. Many of our volunteers are of a vulnerable age and have underlying health challenges. Thanks to a crew of very dedicated folks who have stepped up to help out, we have not reduced our service to the community. Several of our volunteers
work multiple days a week at the service center now. Volunteers Anabell and her husband Eddie make volunteering a family affair. They and three of their children volunteer on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and
Thursdays, and they go more than the extra mile. This family arrives at 7:30, and hour and a half before the typical volunteer shift. They clean, organize, and do whatever needs to be done. Eddie repainted the walls
in our outdoor storage area. Normally when the St. Vincent de Paul stores are open, St. Vincent sends a truck weekly to pick up any extra clothes we have for distribution in their stores, but during the shutdown we didn’t have that truck to help us out. Anabell and Eddie are two of the volunteers who help make sure all our donations find a good home anyway. They take as many as thirty bags of clothes in their own car to
the Union Rescue Mission downtown for distribution there. Anabell says, “I like it. It makes me happy to help other people. Coming here is the part of the week I look forward to.”
