As part of Nurses Week celebration,

nursing staff enjoyed pizza, beverages and

cake on Thursday May 9th.

In Canada we celebrate National Nursing

Week each year during the week that

includes May 12, which is Florence

Nightingale's birthday.

Florence Nightingale was a famous nurse.

She is best known for the work she did to A n n a K o s n a k y a n ( R N ) , M a r y s e care for wounded soldiers during the Prud'Homme (RPN), Chelsea Pecore (RN) Crimean War (1853-56) but she also made a and Brian Leger (PSW).big contribution to changing the way in

which hospitals were run. She was a

celebrity in Victorian times and she has

continued to be spoken and written about to

this day.

As we celebrated Nursing Week, we took

time to reflect on the reason why care giving

is chosen as a career and acknowledge the

contributions made by nursing staff. Amelie Labrosse (PSW student) and Lillian

Vincent (PSW).I wanted to take this opportunity to thank

everyone for their hard work and

dedication in providing care for Glen Stor

Dun Lodge residents and their families and

friends.

May all the care and kindness you give to

others, Come back to warm your heart.

It takes a team to provide excellent care and

Glen Stor Dun Lodge's nursing team is the

best!

Thank you for all you do! PSW's Stacey Petersen and Debbie Leblanc.Sally Munroe, Director of Nursing

et immense amour que vous avez eu pour elles;

de votre compassion et de votre amour ;

Amen!

Fathers are wonderful people You'll find he's sentimental

Too little understood, And as soft as he can be…

And we do not sing their praises

As often as we should… But he's so busy every day

In the grueling race of life,

For somehow Fathers seem to be He leaves the sentimental stuff

The man who pays the bills, To his partner and his wife…

While Mother binds up little hurts

And nurses all our ills… But fathers are just wonderful

And Father struggles daily In a million different ways,

To live up to his image And they merit loving compliments

As protector and provider And accolades of praise,

And hero of the scrimmage…

For the only reason Dad aspires

And perhaps that is the reason To fortune and success

We sometimes get the notion Is to make the family proud of him

That fathers are not subjet And to bring them happiness…

To the thing we call emotion, And like our heavenly Father,

He's a guardian and a guide,

But if you look inside Dad's heart, where Someone that we can count on

no one else can see, To be always by our side.
