Dear Brothers and Sister in Christ,
On June 24th, I celebrate the 15th
anniversary of my Ordination to the
Ministry of Word and Sacrament.
Long before that day, I dedicated my
life to serve the Lord. I have daily
prayed that He would open my eyes
to see what He would have me see,
open my ears to hear the cries of His
people, open my heart to discern His
will, to send me where He needs me
to be, to give me strength and faith
to do His will to the glory of His Holy
Name. This prayer, and the work of
the Holy Spirit, has guided my life,
called me to a life of ordained
ministry, and led me to you.
By God’s grace we have worked
together to discern God’s will for us
as a congregation and as a parish. In
the mystery of God’s will, I have
been called to serve a new place.

After much prayer, I have discerned
my call and ministry to this place is
now complete. I have accepted the
call to serve the people of God at
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in
Viroqua, Wisconsin. I will conclude
my ministry among you on May 31,
2016. Sunday, May 29th will be my
last worship with you.
God will continue to be with you.
God will bring to you another pastor
to care for you and love you. God will
continue to work in you, that which
is well pleasing in His sight, as you
continue to live into your baptismal
calling. Bishop Rick Hoyme and the
staff of the Northwest Synod of
Wisconsin will assist you through the
coming transition. God’s peace be
with you.
In Christ’s Service,
Pastor Yvonne Marshall

Vacation Bible School 2016
We are gearing up for a fun week of Vacation Bible School this summer.
Mark your calendars and plan to attend Sunday, July 31st through
Thursday, August, 4th from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Snacks, stories, songs, arts,
crafts, and tons of fun are to be had! Sunday and Thursday evening will
be family friendly, including a campfire and a family art project.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday just drop off the kids and we’ll keep
them busy! More information will be sent out as the dates get closer.
“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday Sept. 11, 2016
“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. The date for the 2016 dedicated day of service is Sunday, September 11th. This year’s date also marks the 15-year anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States. As you
continue to share God’s love with your neighbors, whether it’s volunteering at a shelter or cleaning a park, consider thanking and praying for the emergency responders in your area.
“The world can be a dangerous place. But there are some who, when disaster strikes, run toward the danger. These are the first responders, firefighters, police and EMTs, who live out their
baptismal vocation in service to their communities in times of intense need. They do God’s work with their hands.” – ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth A. Eaton
Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner
of life – flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. You work every day to make your community a better place. Let’s do this work together!
Bible Study Invite From June 15th through August 3rd, Peace Lutheran of Pigeon Falls will be offering a bible
study on the Book of Acts (Book of Faith Series from ELCA) from 9:30 to 10:30am on Wednesday mornings in their Fellowship Hall. Cost of a study book is $10.00. Feel free to join.
