June 2012 Updates:
Super Girls have Super Fun!
We went out shopping at Woolworths on a weekend and were bombarded by gifts and attractions when we
arrived: there were live chicks, balloons, flowers and strawberries dipped in chocolate!
Initially the girls were thrilled, but then we had to finish the shopping at ALDI and Hahgoot got
extremely anxious that the balloons might pop. Eventually one of the balloons that Alma was
fiddling with lost its air (not popped, just released the air when it escaped the string) and she
started a crying fit (which was unavoidable).
Barak took a long time to pick us up (and believe me, I really needed him to be on time!) and when he showed up he explained that he walked out of the house to talk to a gas company salesperson
without his keys, found out the yard’s door doesn’t have a handle when it banged shut and had the guy toss him over the fence to get back
in... Never boring with our family...
The girls wrote farewell cards for Dorothea and we got her a bag of Aussie goodies as she is about to leave us and
go on an adventurous trip around the world before returning to the US.
She will be back in the July presentations, but we miss her already!
The Young family invited us for a spontaneous
night out at the Penrith Panthers RSL.
There were performers and face painting...
... And craft and music. We came quite late so we missed out on the rides.

We had dinner with the young family (from far left: Laila, Mia, Barak holding Alma, Leeanne, Darryl, Hahgoot and Alyssa. Little Kayla isn’t in the picture
as she ran off, again... Then we went out to see the VERY
noisy fireworks display, which I spent watching from inside the building with a hysterical Hahgoot, who went into “fight-and-flight” defensive from the
abrupt noise. She relaxed enough to have ice
cream afterwards.
After a hearty dessert we chatted some more and
the girls spinned endlessly on the swivel chairs. The place was
one huge “assault to the senses” – even the
bathroom had walls that changed colours!
We left just before Hahgoot went “ka-boom” from sensory overload.
We had a pleasant afternoon tea with Alison and Moshe at Mount Druitt Westfield shopping centre – the girls were especially
impressed by their babycinos!
We drove an hour and a half to Miranda, in the Sutherland Shire, to see Gali and Niv’s new
lovely apartment and meet the new addition to the family: sweet Lidan!
Everyone had a great time with
bubbles, cars and an assortment of toys!
Everyone found something to chat about
Thanks Niv and Gali for sending half the photos
We had a family trip to do shopping in the Lennox shopping centre at Emu Plains on a weekend and stopped for
doughnuts to keep up the energy!
I got a giant home-grown pumpkin from Helen, Jasmin’s mum, to thank me for helping her
with issues she had with one of her sons, who also has sensory problems and wasn’t getting
the right support.
I made a few very tasty dishes from the fantastic pumpkin!
In our next presentation:
Alma turns 22 months old!
