JUNE OUTREACH WARM THE WORLD • JUNE 8/9

The June Outreach Collection at our Parishes will benefit our Warm the World Project. This October 26 event joins our three Sheboygan North Par-ishes together with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints under the direction of the nationwide group of “Project Linus”. Funds raised through our collection will be used to buy materials and supplies for blankets to be made in the St. Dominic Parish Activity Center on October 26. Last year we made 200 blankets. We will need many hands for this day, so please look for up-coming notices for this day to be a part of the project. The first $200 of the collection will benefit our St. Vincent de Paul Society. Your donations will be greatly appreciated.

MEN’S PRAYER GROUP On Saturday, March 30th, several men from Blessed Trinity and St. John Evangelist Parishes attended the Men of Christ Conference in Milwaukee. A group of these men have since decided to form a Men's Prayer Group within our She-boygan County community. We will be fashioning our Men's Prayer Group following the That Man Is You pro-gram of Paradisus Dei. For more information on That Man Is You, please visit That Man is You - Paradisus Dei. If you would like more information on the Men's Prayer Group that we are forming for Sheboygan County, please email [email protected].

THE CORONATION OF

THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY:

Having been raised to Paradise, Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth. The crowning episode is the final act, after her death and Assump-tion, in the stories about Mary. The ceremony is presided over by Christ, who places a crown on Mary's head. She sits on the same throne with him before the Eternal Father and the Holy Spirit. The scene takes place before the celestial court: angels, saints, and patriarchs, who all cele-brate their Queen.

After ascending to Heaven, Jesus "sits at the right hand of the Father," sharing with Him sovereign power and estab-lishing the kingdom of the Lord. Raised to Heaven and crowned Queen, Mary participates in her son's government. While the term "Ascension" is active, suggesting a move-ment upward by one's own motion, the word "Assumption" has a passive connotation, in the sense that it is not a self-propelling movement. Likewise, the Virgin's sovereignty is conferred upon her by God the Father and Jesus Christ. The title of Queen sanctions the power she has received to pre-form her mission as advocate and intermediary between men and God. Her status ensures her communion and inti-macy not only with her son Jesus, but also with the full community of believers.

SD-FATHERS’ DAY REMBRANCES In recognition of the talent that many fathers have as “fixer-uppers”, we invite parishioners to donate this year towards a special fund to purchase special cabinets to store cans of flam-mable liquids on the parish complex. If you would like to donate towards this in memory of, or in honor of, your father (or other special men in your life), please use the envelopes provided on the table in the Ves-tibule or in the Parish Office & place them in the donation

box, the regular collection, or take them to the Parish Office. There is not an option to donate to this through Faith Direct. The list of all fathers’ names will be included in a bulletin insert on Fathers’ Day weekend, June 15/16. Forms need to be received in the Parish Office by

NOON MONDAY, June 10 to be included in the insert.

GOING ON VACATION? If you miss a bulletin because of being out of town, there are 3 weeks’ worth of previous bulletins in a file in the St. Dominic Ushers’ Room or go to your parish’s website: www.stdominic.us or www.holynamestclement.org (Current ones are usually posted by Thursday afternoons.) Good way to keep in touch with our parish community.
