Come and Meet the Neighbours!

To all Clubs, Societies, Members of Council, Members of FCA and friends.

Please support the Community Centre by joining us for an Open Evening and Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 28th June.

Doors will open at the Community Centre at 6.30pm and we hope you will use this opportunity to meet other groups, members and friends and see what is happening in this vibrant Centre. Refreshments will be available.

The AGM will start at 7.30pm and a short FCA Council Meeting will also be held before the bar opens!

The annual, quarterly and monthly draws of the 200 Club will take place during the evening with a top prize of £1500.

If you would like to stand as an Officer of the Association, please leave nominations at the Centre addressed to Dot Lawless, 14 days prior to the meeting.

The FCA Management Committee looks forward to seeing as many representatives of groups and societies as possible on 28th June.

We are very grateful to those groups and individuals who have made donations to the roof fund so far but there is still a shortfall of about £3000.

Donations can be made online at centre.frodcomm.org.uk or just put a cheque in the post! (or your loose change in the collection boxes.)

And do support the U3A Whist Drive on June 22nd raising the roof for funds.

The FCA Acoustic Event with Chris Quinn. 7.30 for 8pm

Chris’ shows cover a huge range of acoustic roots music alongside his own songs. From authentic interpretations of traditional and contemporary Celtic and British folk songs to high speed bluegrass flatpicking and from the style delta blues and swinging jazz songs to instrumental solo guitar pieces.

P.S. On 17th June FGC presents Shades of Django in the LiveLounge.

At a Lunch to mark the end of his Mayoral year, Cllr Mallie Poulton distributed funds raised during the his term to local Charities.

Graham Reeves was on hand to accept a donation of £1500 towards centre funds.

Chris Quinn in the LiveLounge Saturday 10th June

Heavily influenced by British folk and American Roots music, the Shrewsbury based singer songwriter and acoustic guitarist Chris Quinn has been receiving glowing reviews in the UK music press for his latest release, his debut solo album "Across The Divide".

Maverick, one of Britain's leading music magazines called him "A Master of the Acoustic Guitar and a Quality Songwriter".

Shades of Django in the LiveLounge Saturday 17th June Shades of Django, the Preston based band, play the music of Django Reinhardt in an authentic 'gypsy jazz' style with three guitars and a double bass.

Band members Stuart Hampton-Reeves, Paul Murphy, James Goodwin-Hudson, and John Wilton.
