PG 3ǀSt. Barbara Catholic Church

We are many parts but are all one body And the gifts we have we are given to share….

We have embarked on a journey. Led by the Spirit we have begun our Exodus from what has been to wherever God guides us. We are all nervous and even scared. How much will change? What if I don’t like the changes? I, too, am nervous and a bit scared. I’ve never led two peoples into one. There are a thousand questions that, right now, have no answer. And that can make anyone frightened. We need to learn from our ancestors in faith, the Hebrews Moses led to the promised land. They did not know exactly what to expect or where they were going. God asked them to trust in him. They first had to admit that what they had was not good and would probably never get better. Only then could they hear God calling them to a new and better life. We, too, have to admit that the Church as it is today is not in a good place and, if nothing changes, things will never get better but only worse. The Holy Spirit calls us to put our trust in him; to follow him into the desert where, just like the Hebrews, we will learn what the Spirit has to say to us. All of us are saddened to let go of our parishes where we were comfortable and felt safe. It’s natural to mourn the loss of something we loved. But remember how God called Abraham when he was an old man to leave his city with everything he possessed and follow God into a foreign land. Jesus, too, was led by the Spirit into the desert where he learned what the Father wanted of him. And he never went back to live in his home in Nazareth again. Now Jesus calls us to follow him, to pick up the ministry the Father gave to him and bring to our divided and weary world the good news of the Gospel. The future awaits; let’s not keep the Spirit waiting.

No sabían exactamente qué esperar o a dónde iban.

THE NOSEK FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT TO OUR OPEN HOUSE ON SATURDAY, JUNE 22.

As you all know, today’s culture has become a new territory for the New Evangelization. The St. Barbara Evangelization Team has taken on the challenge and will be at the Brookfield Farmers Market available to the many who are thirsty for God and do not even know where to find Him or where to start! They will be on Saturday July 20th, August 17th, Sept 21st, Oct 12th.

The Evangelization team would like to thank the parishioners who attended our pilgrimages; proceeds after expenses allowed us to purchase a Literature kit. This was used for the Taste of St. Barbara and will be used at the Farmers Market. Stop by if you happened to be there to say “Hi” to our E-Team members.
