Dear Lord, We pray for all that are in need of a healing touch from you. We ask for physical, emotional and mental healing. Father, we believe that all things are possible through you and

by Christ’s stripes we are healed. We believe that you see every need before we ask. You are the Great Physician and we

thank you in advance for what you will do.

GOD’S PROVIDENCE

Today’s readings celebrate God’s providence. No matter how wonderful (or heartbreaking) our relationships are, God always provides for us. No one cares for us the way God does. Isaiah delights us with a deeply intimate image of God caring for us “as a mother comforts her child.” The prophet describes us not as the usual “children of God,” but as “babies.” We should not resist this image, but rejoice in it. Trusting in God’s care, we can all let down our guard and rest like infants in the lap of our mother. Saint Paul’s trust in God allows him to be at peace like this. He boldly declares that no one can “make troubles” for him, because he has given himself completely to Jesus. And when Jesus sends his disciples out to preach and heal, he challenges them not to provide for themselves, but to let faith be their guide. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Dear Saint Joseph's Parishioners, It was a great joy to celebrate Jesus' Ascension and my ordination to His priesthood with a Mass of Thanksgiving--my first--on June 2. It meant so much to have the church filled with my family and parish family . . . Thank you to all who came! Special thanks to those who helped to prepare and serve, cook and clean, sing and minister for the event. And of course I am very grateful to Fr. Cesar for the invitation to celebrate Mass, and to the Foresthill community for giving up their regular Sunday Mass time. I could not have asked for a more beautiful beginning to priestly ministry; God has richly blessed me with a very supportive church community. Saint Joseph's parish will always be my home, and you will remain in my prayers as I go off to begin priestly ministry at St. Mary's in Vacaville. May God bless all of you! Fr. Steven Wood

Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

We will have Olive Wood Handcrafts On July 13th and 14th after Masses

“A group from the Holy Land (Bethlehem & Jerusalem) will be selling religious articles after masses to support the Catholic Christian minorities in Bethlehem. As a tradition, many of the Catholic families in the Holy Land work in small workshops to produce religious articles from olive wood. These articles represent the Christian art of the Holy Land. In the past, they used to sell their artwork to pilgrims who visit the Holy Land. However, these days they are facing an economic hardship as very few tourists visit the Holy Land due to security issues. Many of the Catholic families immigrated and left the Holy Land. The percentage of Christians in the Holy Land has dropped from 20% to less than 1%. Therefore, if this hardship continues as it is now, we believe that in a few years, there will be no Catholics in Bethlehem or Jerusalem. The struggle to preserve

the Catholic identity of the birth-place of our savior; Jesus Christ is a serious concern for Catholics around the world. Sales will be used to help and support the Cath-olics in the Holy Land and to en-courage them not to immigrate.”

Lay Mission? What’s that???

Have you ever considered that you have a vocation simply by the fact you are

baptized? Through our baptism we are called to be priests, prophet, and king/queen. It is

our vocation as laity. The Diocese is offering a program that will help you explore your ‘Lay Vocation’ and you ‘Lay Mission’. This is a program that will prepare you to be-come Christ to the secular world. Come to an

informational meeting hosted by St. Clare Parish in Roseville (1950 Junction Blvd., Ro-seville) to find out how, and hear from others who have completed this program and how it

has changed their lives.

The meeting will be Thursday, July 18th at 7:00pm in the La Salle room which is

located around the side and back of the Morris Center. For more information ,

contact Rita Schillin at (916) 783-5344.
