STEWARDSHIP: “Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Luke 11:9. Jesus assures us that if we ask, God will take care of what we need. The problem is that our culture often confuses what we really need with what we simply want. A good steward only asks God for what he needs.
The monthly Diocesan Pro-Life Mass will take place at The Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich on Sat, August 3 at 8:30 A.M. Please join our celebrant Rev. Walter Nagle at Mass as we pray to end abortion and for healing for those who have had an abortion. Following the Mass, the Rosary will be prayed both at the Cathedral and at Planned Parenthood.
Please note: our Parish Secretary, Ann Phillips, will be on Vacation July 20th to July 29th. The office will be closed during that time and will re-open on July 30th. Please only call Father Greg for emergencies during this time. Thank you!

CONGRATULATIONS: St. Philip the Apostle Parish, Ashford & St. Jude Parish, West Willington have reached 105.69% of their goal for the 2019 Annual Catholic Appeal! While we have made our goal, only 37.32% of our parishioners have donated. We are striving to get as close to 100% of participation as possible. Our ACA supported ministries do the work of Christ every day. From a pastor, “The marriage preparation days offered by the diocese are a blessing for our young couples. As a pastor we do not always have the time to meet with couples to fully teach them about the sacrament of marriage. The Office of Faith Events does a thorough job of preparing them for marriage.” We are truly grateful to those who responded when asked to work “Hand in Hand with All God’s Children”. Vist Shrine of the Little Flower, 7–10 PM, at 35 Dion Dr., Nasonville Rhode Island on Friday, August 9th, for Theology on Fire! Theology on Fire is a Lecture series for Young Adults which meets the second Friday of every month from April to November. Young adults ages 16-35 are welcome to join us for a lecture around a fire in the outdoor shrine. Following the lecture, adoration is held. Finally, the group closes the night by meeting in the Church hall for pizza and community. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to meet young Catholics from across New England and to grow closer to Christ in community with them!

12th Annual CT Catholic Men’s Conference at St. Paul

We’re calling all men of the parish to join us for a day of dynamic speakers, exhibitors, incredible worship, Confession, Adoration, fellowship, and food! Our lineup includes Fr. John Bartunek, Dan Burke, and Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers. Our opening speaker is Bishop Juan Miguel Betancourt & the MC will be Sam Todzia. EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: for June/July/August, we will only schedule Lectors. We are not scheduling Eucharistic Ministers, due to vacations. Eucharistic Ministers, please come forward if you are attending Mass when Father needs help.
PRAY FOR OUR SEMINARIANS/POSTULANTS Take a Post Card from the vestibule for any or all of our seminarians/postulants. Pray, write a brief note if you choose and drop it in the mail. Let your future priests/sisters know you are supporting them and ask them to pray for you. May God continue to send us shepherds after his own heart.
HOSPITAL AND NURSING HOME VISITS If your loved ones are ill at home, hospitalized or in a nursing home and would like Father Greg to visit them, please call the office or Father. Please provide their name, address, phone # and room #. PARISH ENVELOPES: Please use parish envelopes if you would like to receive a tax donation report at the end of the year. Be sure to write your envelope number if you use an envelope from the vestibule so we can keep track for you. Please contact the office to receive envelopes.
