Congratulations

Dear Families and School Community, Another busy week. Unfortunately the footy clinic for years 4

to 6 went ahead without the Melbourne Football players. I heard

this morning that the plane was on the tarmac for over 3 hours

waiting for the fog to lift.. A big thank you goes to the students from

St Mary’s who came down to run the activity stations for the

students so that the clinic could still go ahead.

Staffing

Jeanette Hill has taken carer’s leave for the next four

weeks. Courtney Brown will be in 1/2/3H during this term.

Student Respect

We have had a number of discussions with the students

this term regarding name calling and not treating everyone in a

friendly and respectful manner. This is unacceptable behaviour and

is in breach of the school value of respect and how we expect

students at Nathalia Primary School to behave. I am asking all

parents to speak with their children regarding this matter.

It is important if a student has a problem at school that they

tell a teacher at school on the day it happens, so that it can be

dealt with promptly. However if your child has a problem at school,

please let me or the classroom teacher know straight away so that

it can be resolved quickly.

Suggestion Box

I have set up a box in the office for parent comments,

concerns and suggestions. We encourage parents to contact the

school in person, by phone, email at any time. Classroom teachers

are not available in class time but appointments can be made to

see the teacher at a convenient time. The box in the office is

another way to communicate with us and it can be anonymous if

you choose it to be. If you would like to contact the school using the

box just put it in an envelope and your child can post it.

Well done to Bailey, Tully, Nic & Justice on your 100%

attendance for Term Two.

Last Friday our final football game for

2014 was against Numurkah Primary School.

We didn't win this week, however, it was

great to see the grade 4 students step up again

and help us out.

Cooper played his first ever game of

school football and was among the best players.

Ryan and Darcy were again very

valuable.

Adam and Aiden also had their best

games for the year.

The lightning premiership is on the 1st

of August and if we can harness the individual

performances throughout the season into a full

team effort we should be able to knock a few

schools off next Friday!

Goals: Adam 1, Markiah 1.

Most valuable players: Toby, Cooper, Aiden &

Justin.

Netball report 2nd team

On the 18th of July the second team played

Numurkah Primary school.

In our team there was Jai-Dee, Zali, Justice, Cody,

Maizie, Emily, Zoe, Taline and Teagan. We started off pretty

well and shot a goal. After the first quarter the score was us

1 and they were 0. On the second quarter we didn’t play as

well as the first quarter. After the second quarter the scores

were us 1 and they were 1. On the third quarter we really

came up and we were communicating well and playing as a

team and got 5 goals. After the third quarter we were on 6

and they were on 3. On the last quarter we got 1 goal and

the scores were us 7 and they were 4.

Zali, Jai-Dee & Justice.

4/5/6 Rin & Joh

This term in 4/5/6 we are splitting the class 3 ways in

reading and maths between Mr J, Ms Inglis and Miss Ringin.

This will enable us to have smaller class sizes and more

focussed learning for all children.

We have a very busy term this term with the students

participating in an AFL football clinic, the Life Education Van,

the school concert, Lightning Premiership, Winter Sports, Cyber

Safety program, Footy Colours day and Athletic Sports.

The students are also setting a new learning goal each

week in class and trying to achieve them, the students are also

working towards achieving a mid-term goal with the students

who are successful being able to participate in a reward in

week 5.

The students have started using learning ladders in

maths to help them understand what they know and what they

are aiming towards. The students also have set a goal on the

ladder of where they would like to be at the end of the term.

The students are also trying to achieve perfect

attendance this term so they can achieve a reward at the end of

the term.

Miss Ringin & Mr Johnson.
