Generic FPSO Design Focused on Sustainability “All onboard” Again in ICE Offices Based on its experience from more than 40 FSO and FPSO projects, ICE has released a new FPSO Hull design with emphasis on sustainability and flexibility. Thanks to our employees diligently observing all precautionary measures, we are happy to note that no ICE employees or their families have been infected by the virus. Work-from-home inherently introduces heightened risks of cyber-attacks and we have seen companies being forced to shut down operations for days on end due to breach of their IT systems by hackers. The main features of the G-2400-SM FPSO Hull are: Well-balanced hydrodynamic and motion characteristics for deep-water fields in harsh metocean conditions, Symmetrical hull form, allowing either end to be positioned towards the prevailing weather, Robust, simple to build double hull including double bottom, Spacious deck area thanks to a fully rectangular main deck, Thanks to valiant efforts by our IT experts, ICE has so far managed to successfully combat such problems; however, we are happy from the beginning of July to be able to again have all employees back into the much more protected office environment. We are looking forward to our customers also gradually returning to business as usual, whilst we all continue to observe remaining restrictions to help avoid any “second wave” of the pandemic in the areas where we operate. Spread mooring, with options for turret mooring. Generic FPSO Design Focused on Sustainability

“All onboard” Again in ICE Offices

Based on its experience from more than 40 FSO and FPSO projects, ICE has released a new FPSO Hull design with emphasis on sustainability and flexibility.

Measuring 330 by 62 metres, the G-2400-SM Hull has a storage capacity of 2.4 million barrels of oil. It can carry a range of topside configurations of up to 40,000 tonnes.

In March, concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic caused ICE to start work-from-home.

The main features of the G-2400-SM FPSO Hull are:

Well-balanced hydrodynamic and motion characteristics for deep-water fields in harsh metocean conditions,

Symmetrical hull form, allowing either end to be positioned towards the prevailing weather,

Robust, simple to build double hull including double bottom,

Spacious deck area thanks to a fullyrectangular main deck,

Thanks to valiant efforts by our IT experts, ICE has so far managed to successfully combat such problems; however, we are happy from the beginning of July to be able to again have all employees back into the much more protected office environment.

We are looking forward to our customers also gradually returning to business as usual, whilst we all continue to observe remaining restrictions to help avoid any “second wave” of the pandemic in the areas where we operate.

Spread mooring, with options for turret mooring.

The new design is focused on low emission and high energy efficiency through integration of systems such as: HC gas blanketing, VOC recovery, waste heat recovery, fuel management, HVAC energy recovery, etc.

In June, DNV-GL Business Assurance performed the annual periodic audit on the ICE’s Quality Management System (QMS), to verify its compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. In addition, the audit scope included verification that the quality management system has been successfully extended to ICE’s Branch Office in Split, Croatia. To observe social distancing as well as travel restrictions, the audit was conducted remotely using our videoconference system.

We are pleased to note that ICE has successfully passed the audit. In the closing meeting, the auditors recognised the efforts made by the teams in Galati and Split to successfully align their processes.

Accordingly, a new DNV-GL ISO-9001 certificate was issued, valid up until 28 July 2022.

190th Anniversary: Isle of Man Steam Packet Company ICE is pleased to congratulate the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company with its 190th birthday, making it the oldest continuously operating passenger shipping company in the world.

The company was formed in response to the need for a regular ferry service to the Island. On 30th June 1830, the company’s first steam engine ship, named Mona’s Isle, was

launched from the yard of John Wood & Co, in Glasgow. Today the Steam Packet Company annually carries some 600,000 passengers and 170,000 cars and is the Island’s lifeline for freight.

Pictured here are Steam Packet Company vessels (conventional ferry Ben-my-Chree and fast craft Manannan) in Douglas Harbour.

With a 55-year track record and an annual output having exceeded 700,000 professional engineering man-hours, the International Contract Engineering (ICE) Group is Europe’s largest independent ship design consultancy.
