From the Pastor’s Desk
Over the last few weeks we have been going through the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5. The Beatitudes or The Blessed are statements that contrast worldly values with kingdom values. They describe what we are to be like as Christ’s followers.
Below I have included a narrative called “The Devil’s Beatitudes.” I thought they would be good for all Christians to read. We can all learn something.
The Devil’s Beatitudes
If the Devil were to write his own beatitudes, they would possibly go something like this:
Blessed are those Christians who are TOO TIRED, TOO BUSY, TOO DISTRACTED to spend time with their fellow Christians in Church - they are my best candidates to backslide.
Blessed are those Christians who WAIT TO BE ASKED and EXPECT TO BE THANKED - I can use them to slow things down.
Blessed are those Christians who are TOUCHY, with a bit of luck they may STOP GOING TO CHURCH and get others to quit - they are my missionaries.
Blessed are those Christians who are VERY RELIGIOUS but GET ON EVERYONE's nerves -they are my most effective stumbling blocks.
Blessed are those Christians who are TROUBLEMAKERS - they are my best wrecking crew.
Blessed are those Christians who have NO TIME TO PRAY - they are easy prey for me.
Blessed are those Christians who are COMPLAINERS - they are my best DISCOURAGERS.
Blessed are YOU when you read this and THINK IT IS ABOUT OTHER people and not yourself ------I've GOT you.
Making Jesus Known,
Pastor Don

Love His Power
!!!Follow Him!!! What an exciting time we had as we shared the simple truth of God’s amazing power with about 80 children during our “Cave Quest” Vacation Bible School. It was an amazing scene to witness each evening as the kids were captured by the awe and wonder of God through bible teaching, music, crafts, games, and snack time. It was inspiring to watch the expressions on each face as they experienced the fullness of God’s love in each activity. During their nightly offering, where the boys were trying to beat the girls with the amount of money collected, the children raised close to $1,000 for Birthright of Rolla. They were extremely generous!! And they especially liked watching Pastor Jerry get a face full of whipped cream.
Notes and News (con.) I would like to thank all of the workers who helped make Bible School such a success. We had over 60 people who gave of themselves to create this wonderful memory for all of the children. Thank you for serving. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Just because Bible School is over, doesn’t mean our work is finished. We have been given a great responsibility to help raise these kids up in the wisdom and respect of the Lord. The work has just begun!
