As members of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, wespend a great deal of time networking and doing business with othermembers. It may come naturally to seasoned business men andwomen, but perhaps not so for a young professional.

The Greater Rochester Young Professionals group (GRYP) wasformed to create a casual environment for young professionals in thearea ages 21 to 35 to meet and develop their networking skills.Additionally, these young professionals have the opportunity to learnabout their community and opportunities to become more involved.

Since GRYP is open to Chamber members and non-members, allemployers are encouraged to let their young professionals know aboutthe group! At the group’s monthly meeting (the thirdTuesday each month) attendees will network and build rapport, discusstips on creating good business habits and etiquette, enjoy tours ofRochester area businesses, or hear from guest speakers.

Renaissance Signs has developed a GoFundMe page to benefit thefamilies affected by the recent fire in Gonic on Father’s Day. Whenfirefighters and first responders arrived on scene, they numbered thebuildings 'one', 'two', and 'three'. Building number one was an apartmentbuilding with six units occupied, building number two contained PhaginsRestaurant and one upstairs apartment, and building number three had oneresidential tenant and two commercial tenants. Buildings number one andtwo were completely destroyed by the fire while building number threesurvived the fire, but has sustained structural damage. The Rochester Chiefcommented that this was one of the toughest fires he had seen in his career,reaching an unheard of 7-alarms. All proceeds raised will be distributedfairly to the victims.
