Transformation

Drove the integration and alignment of disparate global IT teams to create a cohesive and standardised group operating as ‘one team’.

Reduced server footprint by 50% and applications by 25%, realising savings of $500K through a rationalisation and standardisation programme, resulting in less complexity, greater consistency and improved Disaster Recovery.

Drove the transition to an outsourced infrastructure provider across UK, France and Italy, managing disruption risk, IT productivity and SAP deployment schedule delivery.

Oversaw the successful migration of multiple legacy ERP systems to a single-instance of SAP.

Financial Expertise

Produced, controlled and optimised IT operating and capital budgets (in excess of £15 Million) ensuring alignment of business, enterprise and IT requirements and underpinning business growth.

Software Development and Infrastructure

Reduced manual interventions, increased consistency, and improved the server effort-to-deploy at least 500% by developing and overseeing a division-critical "diskless" infrastructure called DRA (Dynamic Resource Allocation).

Saved 10 ‘person-years’ each product release and generated 45,000 monthly Oracle site hits monthly by directing and building a revolutionary web-based Electronic Technical Reference Manual (known as ETRM) from concept to delivery that replaced the traditional paper manual.

Delivered a consistent user experience and reduced the required support time by creating, imaging, andmanaging the desktop and laptop hardware and environments for the Valhalla facility.

Reduced the porting overhead and enhanced sys admin understanding by rolling out and supportingmulti-platform build processes for Oracle Process Manufacturing (OPM) products.

Integrated legacy Datalogix processes and systems into Oracle equivalents.

Migrated the Oracle Process Manufacturing products source code from an obsolete legacy system to IBM's ClearCase product during a nine-month project.

Led the integration of the legacy Datalogix systems and code into Oracle mainstream systems.

Rewrote the GEMMS 'make' to properly handle the large number of Pro*C processes in the build.

Led the team to port the Oracle GEMMS UI and server side from Unix to WIN32.

Designed and prototyped better environment management tools and processes to cope with the special build requirements, including dynamically linked Windows libraries and processes to pre-compile the thousands of interdependent Pro*C files.

Improved the Windows development experience at Datalogix by changing the Development Services group's mindset and upgrading from a Unix-hosted LAN to a PC-based LAN.
