Hear the NSCS perform great works from past seasons as well as newer compositions, all focused on peace and reconciliation. The concert features beloved NSCS accompanist

International Friendship
This exciting exchange of musical and cultural traditions features special guests from Japan, the Kyoto Concert Choir with Director Tetsuo
Hashio, and Director Gary Geiger and the Evanston Children’s Choir. The concert includes
music in a variety of different languages: Robert Evan’s “Shalom – A Reason for Peace,” Oscar Peterson’s stirring “Hymn to Freedom,”
and many others.

Requiem for Peace
This Chicago premiere performance of Larry Nickel’s stunning Requiem for Peace features
full orchestra and soloists. Performances world-wide are garnering rave reviews.
Exciting and dynamic music accompanies the poetry of war-torn nations from around
the world, combining in a powerful and transcendent work calling for reconciliation. The composer joins us for a preconcert talk.
