Biography Julia Hobsbawm is an entrepreneur and writer who addresses the problems and solutions of humans in the machine age. Described in 2019 by James Harding, Founder of Tortoise Media and former Editor of the Times and of BBC News as ‘one of the most important public intellectuals in the UK’

Julia speaks to global audiences ranging from the OECD and EU to financial institutions and corporations about how to meet the challenges of the internet and automation. She is a columnist for Strategy + Business Magazine and a contributor to The British Academy’s Future of the Corporation project. From 2007-2019 Julia sat on the board of The European Workforce Institute and wrote the report The APPlied Human at Work: The World of the Worker In the Digital Era for them which the World Economic Forum extracted in 2019.

Her book Fully Connected: Social Health in an Age of Overload was shortlisted for Management Book of the Year 2018 and Business Book of the Year 2018. Her new book, The Simplicity Principle will be published in April in the UK and US.

Julia was awarded an OBE for Services to Business in 2015. She founded the knowledge networking business Editorial Intelligence which pioneered new diverse network thinking and which has just launched the Social Capital Network. She is a regular commentator and broadcaster. She is a Patron of The Zoe Education Trust, and the Facial Surgery Research Foundation and a founding trustee of the charity OurBrainBank.
