Catalogue for Parastou ForouharThe critical political situation in general and of women in detail in her home country, the Iran, are Forouhars main subjects. This catalogue accompanies an exhibition of her work. As animation films are also shown there, two of them are enclosed in the specially folded jacket of the catalogue as flip books.

Corporate Design for an IT SpecialistWhat his clients want is that HE knows and THEY don't need to. Hundreds of abbreviations that have to do with computer and programs are listed on his stationery like concrete poetry and often enough start a conversation when he hands over his business card (left). The design is a reminiscence of the ancient endless data sheets with green and white stripes.

Redesign – an ExperimentAre there recognizable principles or patterns to be found in redesign? To find out Juli invited 18 design studios to take part in an experiment. She chose a design object – a packaging of tights – and sent it to the first participant of my experiment. The task was to redesign it largely at one's own discretion: step 1. This Juli sent to the next participant and asked them to redesign it: step 2. And so forth. Juli let three courses run at the same time to be able to compare the results.

为一本有关秘密的杂志设计的作品 大约五年前，有那么一周的时间吧，也没什么特别的预兆，我非常幸运地知道了一个天大的秘密，一个有关天启的秘密。我当时极度地清醒，极度地豁然，沉浸在一股深深的洪流之中，感觉自己当时表现出了各种各样的性格，就好像每一个毛孔都打开了一样，突然间明白了一些根本的道理，一切事情看起来都是可能的。当时，我试着抓住这个秘密，把这三幅图案和配套的文字放到一起。在做这些的时候，心里是清清楚楚的，这些图案和文字在我看来是对这个秘密最最恰当的总结。我可以读这些文字，也可以解释给别人听。我想在未来的日子里，这些画和文字会像一把钥匙一样帮助自己再次开启那扇门。我当时非常确定自己会一直像第一天那样清醒。但是，并不是这样。这非常复杂，因为那人就是我，我自己，是我自己曾经知道这个秘密。而现在我却想不起来了，只是隐隐约约有那么一个概念，只是曾经非常幸运地向那扇微微开启的门内匆匆地瞥过一眼。但有时这个秘密又会回到自己这里——不再那么宏大，不再那么根本，但仍然是金灿灿的、富足的。（如果有谁愿意划出六平方米来，他们也可以玩一个小小的“记忆”游戏）

Contribution to a Magazine about SecretsAbout five years ago for a period of maybe a week, under circumstances that do not matter particularly, I was so lucky as to share a great secret, the secret of divine inspiration. I experienced an extreme clarity and openness, a deep and mighty flow. I felt as if I were radiating with every fibre, as if every pore was open. A sudden fundamental understanding enlightened me. Everything seemed to be possible. At that time I tried to capture the secret and put together these three images and the corresponding text. When I did this, the message was absolutely clear for me. The images and the text to me seemed to be an utterly precise résumé of the secret. I could read it and I was able to explain it to other people. I thought, in coming times it would be like a key for me that would help me open the door again. I was positive that it would always be as clear to me as on the first day. But: it isn't anymore. That is very confusing, because it was ME, I myself, who knew the secret once. And now I cannot recall. There is nothing but a faint notion that I was very lucky to have had that glance through a slightly opened door. But sometimes the secret comes back to me—less mighty, less fundamental, but still golden and rich. (If anybody bothers to cut out the six squares they will get a tiny "memory"-game)

Measure for Measure"ZeitWissen" is a science magazin for laymen. For sales promotion each issue contains a poster as a tempting "goody". My design brings together the aesthetical and functional diversity of various measures: water gage, alcoholic strength, rhythm, degree of longitude, colour density, manometer, flash radius, degree of difficulty, temperature, and many more.

Advent InviteJuli has been celebrating Advent every year for almost 20 years now. It is fun to think of mottos and corresponding invitations. In 2006 the motto of the Advent party was ice & snow. The t-t-text is wrrrritten as if it was alrrrready v-v-very c-c-c-c-old, and is printed on simple white stickers. These stickers are put on pieces of found paper with Christmas and winter subjects, ripped from magazines and advertising material. The punched out little snow flower is put on the back of the
leaflet.

基督再临日邀请函 Juli每年都庆祝基督再临日，到现在已经差不多有20个年头了。每每想到这个节日的宣传口号和相应的邀请函就觉得很有趣。2006年基督再临日的宣传口号是冰&雪。那些文－文－文字看－看－看－看上去真的就已经－经－经很冷－冷－冷了，再印到一张素白的贴纸上就更⋯⋯把这些贴纸贴到所能找到的一些带有圣诞节和冬季图案的纸片上，而这些纸片都是从杂志和广告材料上撕下来的，再把用铳子铳出来的小雪花贴到了宣传单的背面。

Corporate Design for an Interdisciplinary Clinic for Breast CancerBreast cancer is an ugly subject. Nobody wants to see anything of it anywhere. And yet this clinic, specialized in breast cancer, needs to communicate their capacities and attitude. The type of the logo conveys an atmosphere of medical seriousness, respectability and flexibility in a simple and cool way. The symbol only reminds of breasts without bluntly depicting one. It rather alludes to female as well as floral forms in general, speaks of nature's restoration power and vitality and of the embrace of life. Thus to oppose the patients' fear of ugliness, deformation and death. The logo - type and symbol - can either stand alone or can be combined with a pattern of the symbol. The pattern may again give an idea of transparence and serenity on one hand and of the network of various medical specialists on the other.

50岁生日请柬 在牧场举行的50岁生日派对。请柬相当于一本人生书册，书的页码就是她庆祝过的生日数目，有几页还有一些甜蜜的记忆，比如，“16岁——初吻”“27岁——自己开店”和“41岁——乌拉圭”等等。第50页上写着邀请函的内容。以后的页码一直延续到了100，上面还没有任何纪录——因为这些页代表的岁月还没有来到。最后一页是一张回馈明信片，受邀的宾客可以在上面写一些问候的话，然后回赠给主人。 书册封面纸张是用稻草制成的，封面上写着“Ein la dung”（德语）——英语对应的词是"invite"（请柬的意思）——按读音讲，这个词可以读成“a one a dung”。尽管读起来非常像“dung”，但决不是有意这样写的，我们也不希望这样，不过最后这款请柬的效果还是蛮好的。 有些客人因此受到了启发，在书册里贴上了照片，画了画，把它当成一份极具个人特色的礼物回赠给主人。

Invite for a 50th BirthdayA 50th birthday party, being staged at a farm. The invite equals a book of life, the page-numbers count the years of the person celebrating her birthday, some accompanied by fragmentary memories like "16 – first kiss", "27 – self-employment", "41 – Uruguay", etcetera. The 50th year page carries the invitation text. The following years respectively pages count to 100 and do not display any memories – as they are yet to come. The last page is an answering postcard which can be filled in by the invited and sent back. The cover of the book uses paper made of hay and straw and says "Ein la dung" – the German word for "invite" – which can, syllabized like this, also be read as "a one a dung". The fact that it smelled remarkably of dung at the event was neither planned nor welcome but went well with the invite after all. Some of the guests felt inspired to fill the book with photographs, sketches and texts and give it back again as a very personal present.

Invite for a PicnicTo celebrate Juli's engagement their invited to a picnic at a lake near Berlin, in the ancient GDR. The invite uses the pattern of an ancient GDR shopping bag. When the invite is fully open, what the invited holds in hand is a little picnic cloth.

野餐请柬 为了庆祝设计师本人订婚，他们邀请朋友们到前民主德国柏林附近的湖边野餐。请柬采用了过去民主德国购物袋的款式。当请柬完全打开后，客人手中的请柬就变成了一张小小的野餐布了。

Juli自己的文具 Juli喜欢各种各样的材料，这样她就很难只用一种材料做自己的文具。这个贴纸符合她的要求，可以贴到纸上、信封上、硬纸板上，或是她找到的任何东西上。这款贴纸是用绢印技术在透明塑料上印成的。

Juli's own StationaryJuli simply loves materials of all kind which makes it difficult for her to use only one kind for her own stationary. Einmal werden wir noch wach: Zähl Schäfchen(Hirten, Könige, Strohhalme, Ochsen, Esel,Engel, Sterne, …) während Du darauf wartest, daß Du einschläfst. Versuch Dir zu merken, wieviele es waren.

Stell eine transparente Plastikflasche mitWasser auf das Fensterbrett. Sieh dabei zu, wie das Wasser gefriert. Sollten draußen noch keine Minusgrade sein: stell Wasser auf den Herd und sieh zu, bis es kocht.
Geh zur Mittagszeit zur Post, mit vielen Briefenund Paketen unterschiedlicher Größen undGewichte. Beklage Dich am Schalter darüber,daß das Porto früher günstiger war, daß vor Weihnachten ALLE zur gleichen Zeit zur Post gehen, und überhaupt über den Wahnsinn »Weihnachtspost«.
Zieh Deine lumpigsten Sachen an, setz Dich in die Fußgängerzone und bettle. Warte, bis Du von 30 Leuten Almosen bekommen hast.Falls niemand etwas gibt, fang an, Weihnachtslieder zu singen. Verteile das Geld an 10 echte Bettler.
Schau Deinem Computer beim Starten zu.Beobachte, wie der Wartebalken sich langsam füllt.
Verabrede Dich in einem gutbesuchten Café. Komm eine halbe Stunde früher. Schalte DeinTelefon aus, um die Sache spannender zu machen. Warte.
4. Advent
Geh auf den Weihnachtsmarkt und warte, bis jemand Dir ein Lächeln schenkt und schenk es einem anderen weiter.
Buche am Bahnhof eine Fahrt für den 23.12.nach Posemuckel für 4 Erwachsene (3 davonRaucher, 2 davon mit Bahncard 50, 1 mitBahncard 25, 1 ohne), 3 Kinder, 1 Roll-stuhl, 1 Kinderwagen, alle in Fahrtrich-tung. Hör auf die Leute hinter Dir, aber dreh dich nicht um.
Schau dem Minutenzeiger einer Uhr dabei zu, wie er eine ganze Runde dreht.
Singe Deinem Kind (Deinem Partner, Deiner Schwester, …) Weihnachtslieder vor. Bleibe bei ihm und warte, bis eseingeschlafen ist.
Stell Dich bei Dämmerung vor ein großesWohnhaus und warte, bis genau 13 Fenstererleuchtet sind. Weise die nächsten Passanten darauf hin.
Geh ohne Termin zum Orthopäden. Bleib dort,auch wenn man Dir sagt, daß Warten sinnlosist. Mach Augengymnastik, locker Deine Mimik,dann Deine Handgelenke, dann dehn Dich ausgiebig und fang wieder von vorn an. Frage die anderen Patienten, wann die Heiligen 3 Könige kommen.
Lade Dich bei Deinen Großeltern (Eltern, alten Nachbarn …) zum Kaffee ein. Bring Lebkuchen mit. Laß Dir ausführ-lich davon erzählen, wie sie früher dieAdventzeit erlebt haben.
3. Advent
Geh in ein Kaufhaus. Warte dort auf den Aufzug.Steige nicht ein. Schau Dir an, wer jeweils da drin steht. Erstelle eine kleine Statistik über die Menge an Einkaufstüten, über weihnachtliche Farben, oder über die Gesichtsausdrücke der Leute.
Mach Dir einen Tee und schau zu, wie er zieht.
Stell Dich im Kaufhaus für jeden Artikel einzelnan. Versuche mit den anderen Wartenden insGespräch zu kommen. Frage sie, ob sie sich auf Weihnachten freuen.
Sieh dabei zu, wie es dunkel wird. Drinnen oder draußen.
Mach einen Spaziergang durch die Stadt.Zähl alle Nikoläuse, die Du siehst. Zähl die irre lustigen Menschen mit den unglaublichlustigen Nikolaus-Mützen extra.
Nikolaus
Putz alle Deine Schuhe. Stell alle raus. Warte, bis Du in der Nacht Schritte oderRascheln hörst.
Zünde zwei Kerzen an und warte, bis sie abgebrannt sind.
2. Advent
Geh in die Fußgängerzone und sammle Geld für einen guten Zweck (Kindernothilfe,Deutsche Krebshilfe, …). Warte bis 50 Euro zusammengekommen sind.
Ruf bei der Beschwerdeabteilung eines großenKonzerns an. Wenn Du Dich erfolgreich durchdas Sprachmenü gekämpft hast, wünsch der Mitarbeiterin bei der Hotline eine schöne Adventszeit.
Schau dem Sekundenzeiger einer Uhr dabei zu,wie er eine ganze Runde dreht.

Advent Calendar: "Waiting for Christmas"In Germany children get an "Advent Calendar" on the 1st of December to make waiting for Christmas bearable. It expires on the 24th – on Christmas eve. These calendars usually display a little picture each day or a piece of chocolate. For adults, not only the Christmas time is full of annoying waiting periods – like waiting at the post office, waiting for the bus, waiting at the hotline, etcetera. Staging typical situations like these and creating new "artificial" waiting situations in a delightful and humorous way makes this advent calendar special. Daily "stage directions" on "waiting coupons" help to meet pre-Christmas stress with more composure and fun. "Stage directions" are for instance: "Meet someone in a café. Come half an hour earlier. Switch off your cell phone to make it more exciting. Wait." or: "Watch the minute-hand of your watch going the full round" or: "Go to a department store. There wait for the lift. Don't take it. Watch who stands inside the lift. Make statistics of shopping bags, Christmas colours or of the people's facial expressions". The colour of the "waiting coupons" changes slightly from day to day, the first one firtree green and the last one Christmas red. The more hot the colour gets the nearer Christmas eve comes.

基督再临日日历：“等待圣诞节” 在德国，孩子们在12月1日这一天会得到一本“基督再临日日历”，好让等待圣诞节的这段日子好过一点儿。这本日历可以一直用到24日——圣诞节前夜。日历上每天都会有一张小图片或是一块巧克力。 对大人们来说，不仅仅是在圣诞节期间才要十分烦躁地等待——在平时，像在邮局、公交车站、打热线电话等许多情况下都是要等待的。在日历中呈现这样典型的场景，再“人为”地创作一些愉快、幽默的等待场景，如此一来，这本日历就变得非常特别了。日历上每天“等待礼券”上的“场景变换”可以帮助孩子们缓解圣诞节前的压力，让等待的过程更有艺术气息，更有趣味性。举例来说，“场景变换”可能是这样的：“在咖啡厅等人，早来了半个小时，为了更刺激而把手机关掉，静静地等待”，或是“盯着你手表上的分针走了整整一圈”，抑或是“去便利店，在那儿停着一班电梯，别乘这班电梯，只是看谁站在电梯里；算算有多少个购物袋，有多少种圣诞色彩；或者研究一下人们的面部表情”。 每天，“等待礼券”上的色彩都会有一点小小的变化，第一天是firtree绿，最后一天就变成了圣诞节的红色。日历上的颜色越暖，离圣诞节也就越近了。
