Overview of collected customer feedbackIn total, 58 topics (pain points incl. solution ideas) from seven customers / partners have been collected.
Topics are across the following components: PSM-FM (Funds Management) US Federal (Accounting US Federal Government) FI/CO (General Ledger and Controlling) Logistics / MM (Materials Management and Procurement)
Many ideas within PSM-FM were suggested: Master data (FM and CO) Reconciliation (FI, FM, CO) Budgeting / AVC FM updating / integration
Reporting, user interfaces (UI) Authorization Archiving Workflow

A few selected examples I:
Cumbersome reconciliation between FI and FM
Challenge: “The reconciliation between FI and FM takes too much time and requires the use of multiple reports to achieve it. Funds Management results have to be reported based on payment status, reflected by FM value type 57. On multiple occasions, the payment status has not been generated correctly, FI declares the invoice to be paid, but FM does not. We have not been able in all cases to explain or reproduce the situation, but they occur sporadically”.
Solution ideas: • New or re-designed connection between FI and FM, simplifying the explanation and
reconciliation of differences• Join the separate FI and FM documents into one single, integrated document• Provide an extended standard reporting to reconcile FI and FM• New or re-designed logic to obtain the payment status reporting out of FM

A few selected examples II:
Simplified Master Data Management in FM
Challenge: “In our implementation, the WBS element is the leading master data object for end users, uniting attributes which are otherwise spread across multiple SAP master data objects in the system. To achieve this, we had to develop a transaction which creates a WBS element creates a Funds Center which in our logic relates to this WBS element maintains the link between Funds Center, Fund, Functional Area and the WBS
element in the derivation tool generates the related budget and posting addresses for these combinations as we
are using both to define budgetable/postable object combinations”
Solution ideas: Generate all master data and relations with one (standard) click

A few selected examples III:
Reporting (BW versus ERP)
Challenge: “We replicate accounting data to our accounting cube once per week over the weekend. When users try to drill down and navigate to more detailed records in the ERP system, the BW information (based on totals records from last weekend) rarely matches the ERP information (based on line items, selected now)”.
Solution ideas: Less BW reporting? More and faster ERP reporting? Data storage and tool features to align timeliness of content?
