Greetings from Judospace Chief Executive

Welcome to our annual newsletter. It always amaz-es me the variety of activi-ties which we manage to squeeze into each year.

In 2014 we have worked in 7 countries with over 100 coaches face-to-face and over 120 online. What con-tinues to impress me is the passion and dedication they have for judo.

UKTI Global Sports Mission to Japan

This year Judospace was accepted onto the Pass-port2Export programme run by UKTI (UK Trade & Invest-ment) which aims to in-crease the capability of British business to trade internationally.

Judospace was one of only 16 British companies invited to take part in the Global Sports Mission to Japan from 25-27 November.

Hosted at the British Embas-sy in Tokyo, the Trade Mis-sion involved meeting with the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government,

as part of a Host2Host agreement to share exper-tise from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to help prepara-tions, delivery and legacy for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Our thanks go to UKTI, and our International Trade Adviser, Sandra Warne for their support.

We are often humbled by the incredible hospitality when we travel. So many people to thank for that.

This year we celebrated our 5th birthday, looking for-ward to an exciting journey over the next 5 years.

Congratulations to Janine on her shortlisting in the PA of the Year Awards and thanks to her for all her hard work.

I’d like to finish with a short poem from Dr Shigeyoshi Matsumae;

Cultivate your thoughts, make your body vigorous, improve your wisdom, and chain your hopes to the stars.

Whilst in Japan, Dr Callan taught on the Solidarity of International Judo Educa-tion coach programme based at Tokai University. Coaches were from China, Guam, Laos, USA, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Israel and Pal-estine.

He had meetings at Interna-tional Budo University and attended the IJF Tokyo Grand Slam.
