Blossom

Walking down Clyde Morris Boulevard

By myself and all alone,

Everyone just passed me by,

Not offering a bone.

At one time I was gorgeous,

Blond fur and golden eyes,

Now no one even looks at me

Or listens to my cries.

I’m tired, hot, and hungry,

And feeling lots of pain;

Although I can just barely walk,

My tail wags, but in vain.

Oh, good, a car is stopping!

Can help be on its way?

Maybe I won’t die all alone…

This is my lucky day!

Journey’s End Animal Sanctuary

Blossom, four days after her rescue. Volunteer Juli spotted

her staggering on the side of a busy road and pulled her car

over, taking this sweet girl to Dr. Long at Tomoka Pines

Veterinary Clinic. Two days later, Blossom came to

Journey’s End where she is regaining her health, her

strength, and weight, and her fur.

Hey, everyone out there,

Listen to my story!

I’m living here at Journey’s End,

So full of fame and glory.

Only a few days ago,

I was living by the jetty.

My mom and siblings ran around

And raced like Richard Petty.

Yes, everyone ran ‘round and ‘round—

Everyone but me.

I’m just a wobbly kitten,

No bigger than a flea.

Found in the middle of the road,

Near death from a heat stroke,

But Steve and Nikki rescued me;

They’re such kind and gentle folk!

Although I am still wobbly,

I purr as loud as anyone,

And snuggle in my blankies,

Sleep, play, and just have fun!

We wish to extend our most heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your continued

support. In this strained economy, we know we aren't the only ones struggling, and

your donations, no matter how small, are especially meaningful now. Journey's

End could not survive without your continued generosity. Our precious animals

depend on good hearts like yours, and we thank you from the bottom of ours.

We’re eggstraordinary without a doubt.

We’re fine feathered friends who live with the pigs

And we’re something to crow about!

We’ll give you a feather to put in your cap,

Or an egg to fry in your skillet.

We’ll wake you up at the crack of dawn

To remind you to give us millet.

We know Chicken Little; he comes to visit;

He told us the sky would fall.

He’s really a birdbrain, and we should know--

The sky is still high, after all!

Don’t count your chickens before they hatch,

‘Cause that might be fowl play!

And these chicks won’t be in anyone’s pot

Because we’re here to stay!
