Doppler Effect Porosity

The porosity of a material is determined by measuring the

amount of void space inside, and determining what

percentage of the total volume of the material is made up

of void space.

VV is the effective volume of the pores,

VT is the bulk volume of the sample,

Doppler Effect is the change in frequency of a

wave for an observer moving relative to

itssource. It is commonly heard when a vehicle

sounding a siren or horn approaches,

passes,and recedes from an observer. The

received frequency is higher during the

approach, it isidentical at the instant of

passing by, and it is lower during the recession.

Here we have done a Basic site analysis.

The idea of porosity with the combination

of the doppler effect is put into context.

The Kinetic Rain is a kinetic sculpture designed

by German art studio ART +COM and installed

in Changi airport Singapore. Kinetic Rain is

composed of two parts, eachconsisting of 608

rain droplets made of lightweight aluminum

covered with copper.
