Each day, 65 million people eat at McDonalds $168 billion annual cost to obesity epidemic and same amount Americans spent on fast food in 2011 Fast food advertisements are on the TV constantly (seen by children, teens, adults) Obesity rate has increased in all ages 23 million low income Americans live in food deserts which lack supermarkets. Fast food chains are heavily targeting low income communities. Low income people are more obese because healthy food is more expensive.

This was written 10 years after the book was originally published.
It was to re-assure that the country (America) is still obese and in fact, getting worse.

Facts
Throughout the whole term of George W. Bush’s presidency, his administration refused to reform the nations fast food system. They did not help out the E-coli outbreak and continued the production of harmful (poisonous) foods to distribute throughout the country.
