Northern Star Scouting Base Camp (6202 Bloomington Road, Fort Snelling, MN 55111) is located in the heart of the Twin Cities, just east of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and directly at the intersection of Minnesota Highways 62, 55, and 5. Visitors to Base Camp may also arrive by the light rail’s Blue Line, with the Fort Snelling Station just blocks away.

From MN 62 EastboundMN 62 becomes MN 55 Exit at Bloomington Road. Turn left at the service road. Base Camp is on the left.

From 35Take MN 5 West. At the river, follow the exit for MN 5 West and “Fort Snelling Historic Site.” Stay left on the exit to “Fort Snelling Historic Site.” Base Camp is at the end of the ramp.

From MN 62 Westbound (formerly MN 110)Take MN 55 Westbound over the Mendota Bridge. Exit at Bloomington Road. Turn right at the stop sign. Base Camp is on the right.

From 494Take MN 5 Eastbound. Follow the signs for 55 West and “Fort Snelling Historic Site.” Exit at Bloomington Road. Turn right at the stop sign. Base Camp is on the right.

children and youth under state guardianship.
