JOIN THE JOURNEYWITH AFRIKO! If you have ever wondered about being part of a unicorn team, AfriKo might be the right choice for you.
In startup world, ‘unicorn’ is a company valued at over $1 billion. We like to think of AfriKo as a non-profit unicorn - though we haven’t reached that value yet, the organization is growing exponentially. We are a research and consultancy centre busy making and analysing unexpected connections between Lithuania and African countries.
Our most recent achievement - Digital Explorers initiative - facilitates relations between Lithuanian and Nigerian ICT sectors. The EU’s funded pilot sets a stage for creating career enhancement opportunities for Nigerian tech developers through work placement in Lithuanian ICT companies.
Our unicorn team needs a superhero support for making Digital Explorers Hackathon happen. Therefore, we are looking for pro-active and agile minds to join our MTH (Making Things Happen) Department and we suggest you an opportunity to explore your creative and organisational sides!
Your responsibilities will be: • Assisting the team in the whole organizational cycle - from concept development to turning off the lights of the venue after the hackathon :) • Selecting and coordinating team of volunteers;• Managing all types of logistics (related to branding materials, travels of mentors from abroad, hackathon agenda, etc.); • Managing communication with project partners, hackathon mentors and participants;• On-the-day support (e.g. coordinating venue preparation, registration, dissemination of relevant info to the participants, etc.).
INTERNSHIPTECH EVENTS MANAGEMENT
We expect that you: • Are not afraid of doing coordinative and event organizational work (practical experience would be an advantage);• Have great communication skills and consider yourself a problem solver;• Can speak and write English and Lithuanian fluently;• Have a team spirit, strong sense of responsibility and understanding that the devil is in the details;• May have basics in graphic design (not obligatory, yet an asset).
